Yay for productivity.

Finished swapping out my body mount bushings and radiator support bushings for the Energy Suspension Poly ones. Used this write-up.

Sliders were in the way of the usual method... couldnt get enough of the block on the pinch weld without it kicking out.



So I moved the 4"x4" block to the inside and lifted the body on this support brace. worked like a charm.



Got the 2x4's in between the frame.. well sliders in this case.. and the body.



Started with the passenger side. This was the amount of lift needed to clear the old bushings and get them out.

New ones in.. raised the passenger side by 1/8". same process on the driver side and finished up pretty quick.



Then moved to the radiator support bushings.. which were the main reason for this upgrade, as you can tell.. they needed it.



Might swap them around. Currently, I have the smaller bushing on top. Per some recommendations, I might switch the larger of the two to the top. This would yield a slight amount of added height.

Finished it all up, and noticed my driver side wheel hub is going out. So, gotta add that to the list of To-Do's. I plan on swapping both Hub Assemblies and both CV's (since my driver side has been blown for... oh idk.. months) at the same time. Then, shortly after.. my 90k service. Plugs and Fluids (Diffs and T-case) is really it.

Leafs get re-arched tomorrow as well. cant wait for the results! then, to start saving for some upcoming mods...

Leafs are Re-arched. HUGE improvement.

It raised the rear 1-1/2" LOADED and feels gooooood. Brought it to them fully loaded with all my gear, and had them set the leafs based off of that. Sits level fully loaded. With my regular daily weight, it sits a little ass high as of now, but they will break in a bit and should be about perfect.

The stiffer leafs plus the new poly bushings, the truck feels so solid and stable now. less rolling through corners, less squish when entering driveways or hitting bumps, etc. Couldnt be happier. just need to adjust my Radiator support bushings and I'll be good to go. Might even be able to drop my coilovers some since I dont have the taco lean anymore. well, at least less of it now with the new bushings and leafs.

Decided to swap in the Energy Kit radiator bushings instead of the Universal ones during my lunch. 30 minutes flat from start to finish. lol They raised the front a little more and now I can take some preload out of my driver side coilover, wait for the leafs to settle in, and then I should be good to go. no lean, nice and level, and can carry weight.

I want to do mine as well.. but this is a nice starter piece. Glock slides are plain as shit so lots of room and (hopefully) easy. Plus.. its not mine

 

Yah my favorite glock slides are agency arms, and salient arms.

 

they definitely get fancy. this will just be a shallow engraving.

So you used the entire

$151 8.4109G Body Mount Set-Reg, Access & Dbl Cab

8.4109G (or 8.4109R- I wanted red ones ) instead of using the universal ones for the Rad support, I got both kits as well, and I have yet to do the swap and have been flip/flopping on using the Kit as a whole or doing the Mix match....

so your recommendation after doing it both ways... just use the whole kit and save the universal kit for a spare?

also lemme see a Pic of the Spare mounted I am getting ready to mount the full size spare and I would like to keep it under the bed.. if I can..

 

Yep. Used the whole kit.

The Universal ones are stiffer, and you would need to put the larger of the two on top to yield close to the normal height spec. I flipped to the other ones just because I wanted the height to be correct, and also wanted to feel the difference. Granted, I only had the Universal ones in for a day. lol I think I will rock these, and do exactly that, keep the Universals for spares.
