No need. I'm getting psyched to get it going!

BTW I went down your street to see if your house had been started yet. Are you getting the lot with the woods behind it?

There is only once place so far like Mach said and its about a good 2 hour ride for you depending on what road you take from Westerly.

I'm assuming you're keeping the old one? If not, at least press out the u joints and grab the carrier so you have spare parts. The OEM Spicer u joints are 'spensive!

Oh yea I'm keeping it. RI driveshafts will have a go with it I suppose. I tried calling Mitchell differential in Shrewsbury and they COMPLETELY priced themselves right out of consideration. Too bad because I have always heard good things about them

Happy New Year, peoplefaces! New Year, same problems! :woot:

    Hope everybody stayed safe.
Looks like we're getting ice and rain tonight.
Making my lovely snow all crusty and gross. Same thing that happened last winter: whenever we got a good storm, got some good snow coverage, it'd warm up and rain on us.

Shortly after I bought my truck, I saw a beautiful pyrite mica 6' Leer cap on CL for $500. I still wish I bought it. I don't really want a cap, but the more I think about it, I think I wouldn't mind it in the winter, then just take it off for the summer.

Went to my parents for Christmas Sunday and they got me a small 115V wire welder. Should be fine for CMC/ other small stuff. Haven't touched a welder since high school shop class though, I foresee lots of booger practice welds

Yes, it is the first house on the cul de sac on the left. The house and garage are just staked out. They should be digging and pouring the foundation soon.

They're doing your foundation in the dead of winter? Hopefully it stays warm!

You can pour concrete down to like 25 degrees. They just go with a higher rated concrete and put in additives so it wont freeze. Then once its poured the throw in a bunch of salamander heaters to keep it warm.

Yeah, the placement isn't an issue so much as the ground not being frozen under your foundation and keeping it warm with the salamanders while it cures.

I forget your background, are you a civil guy? If so, there are some neat studies that are starting to show that if you freeze concrete, it doesn't ruin it, just delays the curing process. When it thaws out, it just starts up where it left off. I wouldn't try it on my house, just neat to see the research being done.

That's exactly why I had the cap on my 2013. I ultimately want to do the same with my 2016, I think. The tonneau does it's job fine for now, but down the road, I'd like to change it up. Then again, I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to parts and modifications.

On a side note, I just got all the final wiring pieces for my new CB setup using the Cobra 75WXST I had in my old truck. All I'm waiting on is the CBI ditch mounts. I'm planning on using a blank in the dash to plug into and will mount the antenna on a ditch light pod via a quick disconnect. All I have to decide now is whether I want it on the right or left side.

On an additional side note, the Jeep threw it's first CEL @ ~1,500 miles. We have an appointment to bring it in next Monday. So it begins.

    EDIT:

I pass this daily on my way to work. If I had money to blow (who doesn't!), I'd love to check it out. It's a good 10 footer but who knows what it looks like underneath. That lot always seems to have 1-2 older Japanese pickups in somewhat decent shape. Way back when before I bought my STi and I had a car drought they had a gorgeous 1994 4WD Single Cab that they only wanted $4,995 for. It took a LOT of will power not to scoop it up.
