No idea. In the picture below you can see two ends of what I'm assuming is the same wire. Wonder if they removed something from between them before taking the picture?

It is certified pre-owned however since this dealership is claiming that the modules were after market, they are saying they can't submit it under warranty.

Oh ok, now I see what you are saying. GOOD EYES because I didn't see the other end. Maybe they removed something in between or maybe it was hastily taped and came loose like you originally said.

By the way, before this discussion continues, thanks to everyone that has responded. As a new Taco owner, it's nice to know there are people out there willing to provide info and expertise when fighting against these dealerships!

Well, they told me it was one of those trucks they'd provide as a loaner when other people were getting work done on their vehicles. They claimed it was always in the hands of the dealer and I have the carfax report in the glove compartment. Once I get the truck back, i'll check, but I'm almost positive it didn't show another owner, which makes this all the more confusing.

Put the cost on a credit card and then dispute the charge....

Then in that case if they did any mods to the truck they should stand behind it period!

I bet this was some kind of GPS tracking device possibly. I dont see a dealer putting a remote start on a loaner.

I thought about doing that, but then I think it'll be less likely they'd pay me as opposed to doing business between dealerships. I have a spare car I can use for the next couple days, so I might wait it out to see if I can get it resolved.

Exactly, if it was a dealer loaner, as they claimed, they should have disclosed that it that aftermarket module, or if it wasn't a loaner, they lied to me. Either way, they should stand by it!

Yeah, if this doesn't get resolved. I'm going straight to the online reviews and facebook and anywhere else where social media can be used to battle this.

Looks like your last picture may have been the first one they took. The white/black wire appears to be going to the blue from the harness with the red possibly going to the other end. They cut the butt connector off of the red wire in the second picture and you can see what looks like a little wire sticking out of the white/black

The selling dealer is probably blowing you off since you're not in the same state, and you're not at the front door calling them out on the truck.

At this point, I would email every manager, assistant manager, anyone that has an email address the whole and complete story (with pictures, invoice attached) and ask that you be reimbursed.

Ha, Dick Poe is the dealership that found the issue so they aren't the culprit here. The dealership that sold me the truck is Toyota Autonation in Tempe, AZ. They are the ones that should foot the bill here.

Agreed. If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, I'm starting the email onslaught.

I wouldn't threaten them. Just make an accurate and succinct statement with pics attached. What you're looking for is maybe someone to realize that it is indeed a hack removal job of something that they routinely install in their cars and own up to it.
