7 and falling yet, real feel is -13 and it does really feel it. The ice that is left on the drive is staying.

For supper fried up around 6 oz. of bacon, it sounds better than saying almost half a pound. In the bacon grease fried a thin ham steak. Cut some Hawaiian sweet rolls in half and fried the cut half's in hot bacon grease until golden brown. Stacked everything together with a little mayo. Some might call it gluttony I call it ambrosia. As I was putting the cast iron skillet away discovered a package of unopened Christmas cookies I forgot about. Now that is gluttony and I knew it before I even opened the package.

Ordered some pink curing salt No. 1 today to start making and smoking my own Canadian bacon. Figure it might be a little better for me than store bought belly bacon. Also ordered a new pair of snow boots. My Lacrosse are more than 20 years old and held up great until now the leather is separating from the rubber bottoms. Thought they felt a bit drafty LOL. Tweaked my right knee taking them off too which was the final straw. Got the BOA lacing system, will give these new fangled things a try.

    Cold front blew thru today.
    Again summer yesterday.
    Winter today.
Wind was blowing strong most of day.
Really need to shower and not wanting to walk 200 yards to the showers I pimped out. I'd move closer but have no phone or Internet in that area.
    Nor tv.
I have last man standing right now.

Probably too late, but I got a pair of Muckboots (Muckmaster model) this past Fall. I ordered them based on my hunting partner's experience with his pair. I absolutely love them for clearing the driveway and such. I can easily see myself wearing only them on a hunt, and relegating my Danners to 2nd pair backup status. Just sayin' ...

Yeah 2 years ago got off well water and now have city water. Still septic tank but get to pay city taxes now and a lot more for water :-(
Damn Rob I almost asked on here first thought about you. I looked at the Muck boots but not hard enough. Looked at Bean and LaCrosse, Sorels, etc. and ended up with Cableas of all things. If they don't fit right or feel right they are going back and I will order a pair of Muckboots. BTW the flag on the mailbox has been up for going on 4 days now. Apparently they don't want to fight the ice in those little trucks can't say that I blame them.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Danners too. The Muckboots are just really easy on and off, and super comfortable.

getting pissed off sitting here looking at skid plates. Mobtown only sells the front for a 4cyl (descrimination) the other companies don't specify and holy shit are they exspensive for pieces of 3/16 steel with a couple of bends in them. These people must think they're gold plated
