Reverse Camera Anytime Harness Plug and Play 2014-2015

Any idea what it would take to retrofit this to an 09 with a pioneer aftermarket headunit?

 

Or on a pre-2014 that has the backup image in the rear view mirror instead of the HU?

 

Definitely in for a pre 2014 option. Need this mod for my camper set up.

 

Order finalized today. Will probably be 2-3 weeks for shipping from manufacturer. Pricing will be the same as current build.

 

I will look into this. Build will be similar but will need a different harness.

A harness for pre 14 should work on 09-13 vehicle with aftermarket HU. Just need to tap in to the other end of the reverse signal wire if it is readily accessible.

 

Nice idea, but use black or brown wire for ground, not red. My OCD is kicking in...

I'm running the Switch-Pros SP8100 as my main switch panel. Would it be simple to just get that 28-pin adapter, tap and run my own wire? Is a diode still recommended when doing the reverse camera any time mod?

 

I have switched to a black ground since those pictures were taken. It bothered me too. I was just using what I had at the time.

 

The diode is necessary to prevent backfeeding 12v to the reverse signal wire. There is no reason why this shouldn't work with your setup. Just need +12 to one side of your switch and connect the lead from the harness to the other side. Bare harness is $18 shipped. Ill solder in the diode and up to 5 feet of wire to tie into your switch for $25.

 

What about us peeps who prefer our camera display in the mirror? Is it the same 28pin? I would guess it's smaller?

I would be a buyer for a 2012-2013 rear view mirror option .

I have a 12 with rearview cam in mirror, I am about to install a Pioneer AVH-X4800BS DVD Receiver which will be my camera monitor and i'm hoping as well as mirror. can I still use this kit? also I will need switch the fits under a/c controls.

This will not be plug and play for 05-13. I am looking into a solution for those model years, but it may take a little time. I also work 50+hours a week. This is just a hobby.

You dont need a harness for any model years. The harness is just so you dont have to tap into any factory wiring.
