    On my 08 v6 the filter was cake to change? am i missing somthing? i read reports that it was hard to do, also, what about that screen behind the filter? just leave it alone?

    The screen behind the filter is part of your emissions control equipment. It's the charcoal filter. Your gas tank is vented into the engine and this filter traps those fumes from leaving the engine so they don't enter the atmosphere. They're then sucked into your engine and burned when you start it up next.
