I've been eyeing those rtic 65's. I'm probably going to order one this week. I have a similar one and love it but its a 40qt and just not big enough for week long trips to hold everything well.

Get it. And the divider. And two baskets to keep dry items up off the ice. We used ours for our week+ trip to Big Bend, and it worked great.

I was planning on 1 basket and debating the divider. How beneficial is the divider really? I havent been able to think of how it is a really good benefit. I'm convinced on 2 baskets now though.

It divides it and it's a cutting board. Well worth it

Meats on one side, drinks/nonmeats on the other. Eggs cracked into a Nalgene. Veggies pre-chopped into ziplock bags on the non-meat side.
Cheeses on top basket, meat side. Butter too.
Whole veggies on top basket, nonmeat side.

    This worked great for us.

The divider keeps stuff from moving/sloshing around when the ice starts to melt. Helps with organization and such.

I used to take eggs but getting them already scrambled in the carton is way easier

Actually, yes, it should be fine.

    But!

We did a 65 for food. It's full of ice and stays shut. Keeps everything frosty.

20/Yeti Roadie for beer. Its ice melts faster, but doesn't impact the food, and is easier to load/unload as needed.

I've used my 40qt solo for 5 days and wish I had room for drinks. I also used it for 3 nights in BBNP with enough food for 3-4 people and it was a tight fit with ice and no drinks. Ended up using an old crappy cooler for drinks and was regretting that I only had a 40qt.

I agree with both^^. But I want better ice retention for my beer. Will use my 40 qt(cabela's that I spent too much on in a pinch, bought it 3 nights before a trip) for beer and a 65qt rtic for food on longer or non solo short trips.

I been thinking of selling my first truck. Wouldn't know what to do with it maybe trail vehicle. It's a 95 Toyota Tacoma and it's got problems such as no reverse in transmission, brakes don't work due to seal blown out in rear drum brake, electrical such as windshield wipers not working and rear window won't roll down. It runs solid however and 4wd works great high and low. Are bumper with smittybuilt 10k winch. 50 inch light bar. Goodyear m/t but needs new tires low on tread. It has roof rack/ shooting platform. The odometer reads 36,000 miles but I'm not sure on that.
