Night and day difference.. The 2.7L was just way to sluggish and slow for my taste. No disrespect to the 4 banger guys and gals out there. I've owned plenty of 4 bangers and enjoyed them all.

This one is quickly becoming one of my favorite builds. Your first truck was really nice, but this is top notch. Subtle changes at first glance but when you look closely at all the details it really stands out.

@20tacoma17, it was a regear gone bad. Made a whining noise from the day I picked it up. The installer blamed it on the gears and said not to worry about the noise. 1500 miles later I insisted he take it apart and we realized the gears were burning up. So he sent the differential out to Nitro on the West Coast, they installed new gears, sent it back and he put them in the truck and I finally got it back today. No noise this time. Fingers crossed that they last this time.

Thanks man, I really appreciate that! I'm trying to make this truck as functional and practical as possible while maintaining a clean look. Really trying not to skimp on the things that matter. I really have SDHQ to thank for a lot of it. Not only is their expertise top notch, but the parts they make themselves are the best I've ever seen. They go the extra mile and painstakingly think through their engineering rather than just rush to produce a run of the mill part. Just wait til you see their final production sliders! Next level stuff

Here's a pic of the bed stiffeners. I just installed them but it's dark so I'll get some installed pics tomorrow. Simple product but makes a big difference. No more floppy bed sides.

Yes, too dark now for a picture of my installation, but it was easy and the bed is firm. Very good product!

Couldn't agree more!! And for the price, it's a great reasonably inexpensive mod

I drooled over them for quite a while. :)

They are insane. Just do it.

Icon sells the heavy duty flip kit striker plate too if you haven't flipped your u-bolts yet.

What's really hard is that my favorite local off road shop, SDHQ has them in stock. An exercise in restraint.... even though I may not seem so restrained. Just gotta knock out a few other build items first but they are inching closer to the top of the list.

Yeah Cliff is a dangerous guy when Icons are involved. I went from stage 4 to stage 6 in like 30 seconds.
