My 2006 and this 2016 never has squeaked.... The main reason, I believe is that I have Corrosion Free applied each fall.... Everything on the truck that is metal gets this stuff.... Never so much as a "groan" out of the 11 yrs, I've owned a Taco....

Maybe a "cheaper" alternative to messing with the springs is "spray the shit outta them"....!! Fluid Film, etc...??

I do not off road though..!! Sand, salt water, and crap in the springs is not what happens with my trucks...

If you can isolate the squeak, then you have a fighting chance to cure it. Good luck guys... that would drive me crazy.

    all tore up already
But offroad is the cause of the leaf squeaks. Even dirt roads make it louder for a month. And no amount of lubricant can help my damn clutch pedal. Thats just a stoopid design.

Well, I installed the leaf liners and sprayed white lithium grease all over the front/rear bushing contact points. If it makes noise going forward, I will report back. The only option left that I'm willing to pursue is the greaseable bolts, so I'll probably watch for free shipping from an online vendor before I purchase those.

I use the wd-40 silicone spray or any brand silicone spray for bushings

My 07 didn't start doing it until I hit about 150,000 miles. For the last couple of years I've used white lithium grease in a spray can about every 6 months. works great

Alrighty people, after doing everything I could to pinpoint and rectify a squeak I could have sworn was coming from the right leaf pack, I decided to try greasing them with actual grease instead of the spray on lithium stuff. I figured I'd get the u joints at the same time and crawled under my non jacked up truck to make it happen. Given that it's at stock height, and my waste line has been slightly lifted, I was really doing the commando crawl under there. At one point I reached behind to grab ahold of something to help me squirm forward and heard the exact squeak that's been bugging me. My damn spare tire was loose. I finished greasing the u-joints, each one of which seemed to need 4-5 pumps btw, and tightened the spare down and now my truck is squeak free. The squeak developed after a camping trip to a wilderness area that I had to travel for several miles on washboard roads and I assume the tire may have come loose during the trip. That or some rapscallion was trying to steal my spare and stopped short for some reason. Either way, my embarrassment is your potential gain.

Do those of you with squeaky springs have plastic disks between the leaves?

This is my 2017 4X4. All leaves are separated with anti-squeak disks.

My '11 did, but once I added the AAL and spent significant time off-road, the usual cleaning and lubing fixes only lasted for a few weeks. I haven't had any noise since adding the leaf liners.

What worked for me was taking a big screwdriver between the leafs at ends by the pads and prying and spaying some lube I used air filter oil I had lying around worked great instant silence

Believe you're supposed to use non-metallic tool. If you create abrasions or scarring on the leaf surface it may cause even more noise in the long run?

Sorry for the late reply. I don't have just the bolts on Amazon, they're too cheap to really offer them on Amazon by themselves. I only have them up there with the bushings.
They're only for the fixed end, not for the shackle end.

PM me if you want to buy only the greasable bolts and I can take an order for you and ship them out.

EDIT: 3/8/18 - I do have and have had them up on Amazon for a while now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XDKFHPT

for those of you useing Boeshield: 1) are you jacking up the rear? 2) where exactly are you spraying? on bushings in front/rear or little rubber pads between each leaf?

Have you had any more issues with squeaking a year later? and what size leaf liners did you put on?

Correct - WD-40 will rot away the rubber. Silicone spray would be much better and actually preserves the rubber!

Where did you replace/apply these bolts on the truck exactly?
