last year just sucked for lake activities both in the summer and the winter. I was hoping that the last cold snap was the start to a good winter. we need snow and bad. and cold temps

What also sucks is my wife and I have been living about 1/4 from the lake the past 4 years and yes the activities on the lake has been terrible that we can't utilize the area as much as we were wanting too.. and now we're moving a little further away from the easy access..

 

That's correct! You haven't been looking hard enough for ice!! He fished in Walpole last week on a small, shallow pond.

An 8 ton groomer should not be on the ice right now. The ice situation is good but c'mon, this is early January. Most years I'm still riding a motorcycle right now and my first sled ride is the end of January.

Yea but it hasn't been very cold either. Lucky to have an inch or 2 of ice around here. I wouldn't go out on it. That's for sure

 

He had 4 inches last week and I ain't talking about his dinky!

 

I'm not an avid fisherman to begin with, but never could get into ice fishing..seems like just sitting outside being cold drinking your beer

 

I don't like normal fishing to begin with. I would probably prefer ice fishing. Maybe get a stove, some whiskey and a few cigars.

 

I fish in a t-shirt. Insulated portable with a Portable Buddy heater. It's usually so hot I have to keep a door half open:

 

I hate cold weather anyway so that itself is a deal breaker

 

I guess I should have said going to be 50 here. It's definitely motorcycle weather, we just had a good, hard rain to get all the shit off the roads also.

 

Same down here on the rain thing. Literally poured all day yesterday.

 

Damn. I bet most days you'd be fine with just a coleman lantern for heat in that thing!

 

A good customer of mine just came by to pick up his order. He only comes by every 2 or 3 weeks so I haven't seen him for a little bit. While he's paying for his stuff he hands me a gift for Christmas . A very nice card and $90 worth of restaurant gift cards.
