TRD PRO has Entune Premium audio but no JBL??

I'm not sure which sounds better. Can someone verify? If the JBL system is better, why the heck doesn't the TRD PRO have it?

Not Weird enough.....but that's a question for Toyota. Having the JBL in mine, it's not impressive.

 

Because its not a Limited. Only Limited has JBL standard. I believe Toyota is moving towards the same direction as Dodge with their SRT brand and Ford with their SVT brand. The TRD Pro is considered the "enthusiast" truck designed for what enthusiast truly care about like touching oneself and a more aggressive off road look. The limited is still considered the luxury submodel of your "normal" tacoma with all the creature comforts. Pro is more like an Off-Road with Viagra.

 

Because Toyota wanted to cut cost for the 46,000 PRO. They figured by giving you all of those PRO suspension goodies and leather seats you would not need the JBL upgrade. I was tempted to trade my 17 OR LB with PT/JBL for a PRO but I just could not justify it. I would be giving up too many goodies like long bed, sunroof, and JBL for a slightly upgraded off road truck. Just enjoy your PRO

 

highest factory msrp is 43800.00 for a AT... my stereo kicks ass compared to the one in my 15 pro... dont need anything louder... 4000 miles , dont miss my 15 pro in the least.......

 

I ordered my TRD OR with JBL. I listened to a sport with standard radio then to a limited then made my decision.

Surprised you pay that premium price for a pro with no premium audio.

I guess that fake hood skewp is more important.

 

I plan on buying a Pro but I have to admit it seems like it should come with JBL at least as an option. I haven't had a chance to compare the Premium vs. JBL yet, but whenever I catch myself wondering if the Premium wouldn't be good enough for me I remind myself I've been driving a 2005 Jeep liberty for the past 8 years with stock speakers and an upgraded head unit. I'll be fine

 

If you plan on upgrading your stereo you don't want the JBL system. The premium system isn't bad at all and it's barely a step down.

 

I'm going to get the OEM + upgrade.

My favorite part of owning a Pro is the hate.

 

I hate that it didn't come in Quicksand or a longbed, the only two things I required.

 

That's a different kind of hate. The normal hate is more jealousy than anything.

 

It's the same truck with some bolt on / stick on overpriced parts.

There's no hate.

 

My "hate" went to El Paso Texas.. where my dealer sent his Pro to in exchange for my TRDOR
