Trailer Light Convertor, What Brand Works.

I have an '09 Access Cab with LEDs brake lights, does anyone know what brand of trailer harness/convertor works with these lights? I know, from experience that Valley and T-One do not work. I need a convertor that will not back feed current from turn signals into the brake light circuit.

 

Curt Mfg - That's what I installed on my 09' Access Cab and works perfect. The previous brand used had feedback and would cancel Cruise control if I used a signal.

Toyota has the best kit. Includes everything, and is not the same as the aftermarket kits. I would never tap into a $20000+ truck's electrical system with anything other than factory stuff, especially if the factory stuff is available.
Mostly because electrical problems are the most difficult problems to fix.

 

I used eTrailer.com's harness in my '09 without any problems.

 

I just installed the Curt trailer wiring harness and it works fine, unlike the other brands I tried. No backfeed of current from turn signals into brake circuit.

I swapped my 06 tails for 09+ LED tails & finally realized today they were playing havoc with my aftermarket wiring harness converter box.

Using the snowmobile trailer I could not get the right signal or right brake light to blink even though the light was lit.
Using the landscape trailer, the truck would blow the signal fuse on occasion.
My thought was the wiring on the trailers were messed up.

Today we spent a better part of the day tracing every wire on the snowmobile trailer, fixing all the grounds, we even got the inside light to finally work again
BUT that damn right signal & brake light would not work!
So, hooked a friend's truck up to it, no problem, all lights worked properly.

We checked the converter box, ground & wiring it all "looked" good.
So...come to trusty TW and low and behold the 09+ tails & my aftermarket converter are not compatible.

Curt 55513 T connector converter wiring harness kit from Amazon for $45 bucks. It will be here on Weds.

Thanks to the OP & a heads up for anyone else swapping to 09+ LED tail lights with an aftermarket converter other than Curt...it may not work after the swap.
