Honest question, do you divide gallons filled into gallons used to get a accurate gauge?

I live in Minnesota and sometimes i get awful MPG, but it seems like most of the time depends on if I warm it up for awhile and end up taking a short trip. but ive also driven 25 miles no the highway and ended up with less than 17 mpg still. Other times i get 18 all highway.

I only have 2900 miles so far though and its cold as hell, so I am not worried... yet. Ive also had times where I drive 55 on rural highways getting 21+.

Hey man I live in your area I believe and just bought a 17 dclb too. First tank I babied it and was horrible mileage. Second tank I bumped up the tire psi and just drove it some times using the ECT button and it is better. I am averaging 12L/100km right now. On my way home in traffic up hill was 19L. I faint it does eat it in traffic but giving it a little more gas and getting up to speed faster to be able to coast after made a difference, rather than slowly accelerating and having the load on it for longer.

Those KO2s weigh a ton. You are going to loose some MPG with those and you are still breaking the truck in.

There is no significant change to the truck due to "break in"

I agree with this... Brand new vehicles are not like older engines. I know many people think there is a huge break in period but I disagree. however, there are experienced drivers on this forum with different opinions.

My average MPGs have been steadily increasing since I got the tuck.

I have had my truck a little over a month and I have racked up 47XX miles. I am averaging about 16 MPG and have seen 17 a few times but at no point in the last month has my truck showed over 17 mpg. The mileage on this truck sucks and if I weren't so hell bent on having a midsize truck, I would have an exit strategy with it.

Hoping the new Ranger is tits. My last ranger was bulletproof. Ford has an opportunity to really kick some ass in the midsize arena

My last trip was Orlando, FL->Nashville, TN and back. The hills and some of the mountains.....the rear end, transmission and motor in this truck is the most piss poor "engineering" creation I think an auto manufacturer has ever mated together. Each of these are probably great in their own right but together...oil, vinegar and poodles.

    Stock for a minute
Here's a pic of my gas mileage

That's doing between 70-75 highway and a little city

    I'm lifted on 285s 10 ply

But I have a cat back exhaust 2.5inch piping to keep back pressure but mandrel bent to help the flow

And I took all of the crap off of the factory intake

Other then that and Mobil one 5-20 ep

    I'm happy!

I was under the impression that 3rd Gen is supposed to get better MPG than prior.
