    It's not a wheeling trip but a friend and I are going camping in Yosemite Valley next weekend. Upper pines is open year round. I don't think there are gonna be a whole lotta people there.

    You might be surprised. Over NYE Yosemite was completely full, granted it was NYE. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of RVs there next weekend. Those guys dont care what the weather is like. Careful on the roads in the park too. They were really icy a couple weeks ago and are not maintained by caltrans past the entry gates.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    I'll probably reserve a campsite in that case.

    Funny thing is I've never camped in the valley other than one Christmas I stayed in Camp 4 after 2 feet of fresh snow fell in the valley. I had the whole place to myself. I've been backpacking in Yosemite and drive through it to get to the east side many times. I've only been to the valley in the summer one time....never again.
