After a drive where I was 3k RPMS a bunch, and seeing my mpgs increase, I now shift a little lat than I used to. This truck likes the revs.

I have noticed the humming noise at cruising speeds and the speaker rattle. I can deal with that stuff but again, the "engineering" that went into the motor, transmission and rear end gives me hope of landing a 7 figure project lead job with a giant auto manufacturer.

You said you have KOs, anything else done to the truck? Did the tire size change? Is you speedo off?

Must be nice . I have never gotten mine to hold 6th over 60 mph. At 60 it has to be calm , flat or downhill . Just not enough torque to hold it there . I also run it in S at 5 because of it.

Anybody know if there's a performance chip available for the 3rd gen yet?

    I can and I cant.....

The fact my buddy's deleted duramax averages 20+ MPG for $10,000 more with no rattles, driveline issues, and etc all while blowing away the tacoma in every specification you look for in a truck is starting to wear at me.....:annoyed:

I hear you. I have no need for a full size truck and just need something to haul a motorcycle or two here and there and or the bicycles when my lady and I want to go ride. I swore off GM when I had a ton off issues with my GTO (dealers mainly).

Not to muddy the waters but premium 100% gas gets me 24-25 mpg

Odd, I've heard a lot of times that it can actually hurt your MPG, but I wonder what the difference is.

Fuel prices are ridiculous here so not sure if the better MPG are worth it.
If you're saving say $15 for the added milage but the higher grade is costing you 20 its not worth it.
I'm not saying actual number just example right.

Interesting idea, I know I've tried experimenting with different fuels years ago never found much difference. Besides for the past 6-7 years I haven't really had much of a choice since its diesel or no diesel haha.

Hurts your wallet, no impact to MPGs most likely

But dont worry guys we can just use sport mode to fix all problems lol....I cant believe some of the things I am reading in this 3rd gen section sometimes.

The truck is simply behind the 8-ball in every specification when compared to other trucks of the same pricepoint (some full-size and some fell mid-size)....My love of my old 22re and 1st gen forced my hand into this mess and I have no one to blame but myself.

dude, with the new taxes for the new year I've seen premium for 1.70/L at shell. regular is around 1.17/L
...I'm used to roughly 90-1.05/L for diesel and getting approx 600-700km/tank (50L)

taco is gonna hurt with the 16-18MPG paying higher prices and likely only getting like 600km/tank.
Figure diesel was costing me roughly $45 to fill when the light came on.

Both of my 2nd Gens averaged around 17 on crappy Winter Fuel and about 19 on Summer Fuel, it would be nice to see 2-3 MPG's better for sure!
