Electric fan conversion

Im looking to remove my stock fan for an electric one. Does anyone know of a proven bolt-on kit that can increase MPG and horsepower? Im really not looking to fabricate, just purchase and install.
I have a 1st Gen 04 Tacoma PreRunner 3.4 V6

but it says flex a lite will not fit past 02 not sure why was looking to do the same mod

 

flex a lite part number is 678 for 05+

 

You can go to Summit Racing and check out anything they've got to sell. All you have to know is how to do basic wiring and use a tape measure (to figure out how much space you have to work with.

They carry Flex-a-Lite, among other things. The dimensions for each fan are listed, as well as what they produce/require. I installed a Black Magic fan on my old Taurus when I was 16. Pretty easy.

Does this really save on MPG? How much?

 

I don't think it's going to help you hardly at all on MPG--it'll equate to the same difference as lighter-weight pulleys. What you will be able to do is eliminate a source of noise, and adjust the system to turn on and off whenever you want. It would be excellent for anyone who runs a winch or likes to crawl, because most fan kits allow you to turn the fan on even before the thermostat kicks on.
