I did a radiator swap this weekend. I noticed that I have some type of cooler in front of my radiator.

Can anyone help in identifying what type of cooler this is (oil, tranny) or how I can trace the lines to determine what this is.

It came off of a 2000 Prerunner TRD

Yep AC condenser. The cylinder on the right looks like a receiver-drier. Be careful not to damage them or the refrigerant lines.

OP, just so you know for possible future use, our trucks that are auto tranny utilize the main radiator for the tranny oil cooler. They have two compartments in there, one for antifreeze, the other for ATF. So youll never see another cooler up front on a first gen, just the main radiator and an a/c condenser...

Unless a PO added one. There for awhile it seemed like everyone was adding additional coolers and remote filters to anything that had an auto transmission in it. Oh, and fans, cooler fans galore on the trans coolers

Right, i dont think typically they put it in front of the rad though, i may be wrong. But even if they do or did they are pretty small. Not near as big as an A/C condenser or main radiator. But yes you are right it does seem pretty common for the auto tranny guys to add that additional cooler, especially the guys that tow..
