How do you like the 23zero? I've heard good things. I also like how they seem to be the only one that has a 3in mattress.

Those are the dynamic weight capacities not static, meaning when you're driving its dynamic but static or stationary it can support a lot more. They don't give static capacities because they can't have people strapping more weight on and ripping the rack off the truck. Unless your gonna have people in the tent while driving, you will be fine.

That's why I got the Leer 100RCC. 450 lb dynamic capacity. An RTT is around 150 already, then the weight of a rack and sleeping gear and miscellaneous items you leave in the tent all add up. I am sure the numbers given for any rack are conservative for liability reasons, but with extra support I get better piece of mind.

    The tent did.

One thing that I wanted to note about Free Spirit Recreation, is that there were no instructions for the rails, tent, or the ladder hinges, online or in the tent. I had to look up some generic ones online. I still dont know where the 4 self tapping screws go. Maybe they are for the ladder? I figured out how to mount the rails. And the clamps go on my bed rack. After I get that mounted, I will figure out the ladder and all the other supports

That is kind of an issue with all of them..... I had three different tents and they never came with useful instructions.....

The screws actually go into the end of the tent rails and connect the rails with the base.

No clue how necessary those screws are to be honest. As far as I know, my dad never put them in his tent....

From the rail into the base. The selftapping screws are supposed to make said hole. I pre-drilled it with a small bit , so the screws go in straight.

They are very necessary. They will help keep the tent rails on if the nuts come loose. Just call it a safety feature. :fingerscrossed:

They are self tapping. You can pre-drill just make sure you use a way smaller bit.

Thank you for the picture! Dummy me would have put them in the middle, and that would have been pointless! I think I need to remove the cap that I have installed on one part of the rails, to put these screw in.

Interesting. Geo does not have those screws... What size are those? Might consider grabbing a few to add said "safety feature."

Anyone ever hang the opening of the tent off the back of the truck with a cap? I am looking at the Geo GT165 with the annex and I'm wondering if I could use that to cover the bed as well so there's extra space for people to sleep?
