Ya we made it up no problem on 50. Seriously like 1.5 hours from sac. No traffic. It was raining hard the whole way. Started snowing once we hit Sierra. They only had the bunny run open so we skipped it.

It was dumping rain at lake level in south lake, so the prospect of Heavenly didn't sound too appealing... Talked to @jberry he said it was decent up there but not great.

Sugar bowl, squaw and alpine were all closed. North Star was open but by the time we made it all the way around the lake it was late in the day. We said fuck it and went to my buddies cabin in Truckee. Built a giant kicker in the back yard and Hucked it all afternoon. 'Twas fun.

It's dumping a fuckton of snow up here. Tomorrow might be a total bust too. Anywhere steep is gonna be closed at least till noon for Avalanche control, and flat places like NS are going to have 5-6 feet of fresh powder for you to get stuck in.

Fuck. I wanna shred so bad. Keeping up hope though.

 

Traffic Update:

The snow is still falling and clean up is in full force.

I-80 is still closed in both directions heading over Donner Summit. Hoping to re-open in the early morning hours.

SR-89 has re-opened between Truckee and Squaw Valley after the power line fell earlier.

Drive safely.
