I guess Chief Ret Pay must be really good lol Damn , yeah that does look like a nice one and perhaps for as much as he is putting up it might be the right choice. The one draw back that did just dawn on me is if your putting a lot of stuff up and making a lot of bags the sealing unit will get hot and you have to let it cool down before it will seal again. As for how many bags that is ... My unit is over 13 years old I think the last time I did that much I had made like twenty bags in a row.. YMMV

My original Food Saver lasted about 12 years and got a lot of use..probably more than average.
I now have a Food Saver Deluxe that works well.
You do have to cool them down when making a lot of bags. That's no problem as I easily get sidetracked doing other things.

When I was a kid I helped a guy deliver Little Debbie's to grocery stores. We had to pull the "stale product" ,but they were still good to eat. So we did a little experiment,we left a box on the dashboard for about three months. When we ate them, they were still pretty good.

1)I recycle/donate/compost food products, and recycle their packaging. That's technically on the backside of the bell curve, but I do have 2 degrees in other fields. .....

2)Cashews are yummy, but they're not ring dings

    3)Happy Birthday VSSman

Ready to go in the crockpot with onion, mushroom, and mushroom soup. When is tender, I'll pull the bones, mix the meat back in and put that over noodles. ....or rice.....haven't decided which yet....

Actually I was kind of afraid he was going to point to that one and say that. At the high end I was looking at the kissing cousin.
    https://www.amazon.com/VacMaster-VP215-Chamber-Vacuum-Sealer/dp/B005ETDKEA

Cabela's has that one too even cheaper which is rare. And not even $800 it is only $799. Well plus tax. They are chamber sealers and draw 29.7" of Hg, I always considered 29.9" a perfect vacuum so they are pretty damn close. They can do bloody meat without pulling the juices out. The other styles people use tricks like a paper towel in front to soak up the juices and blood. I would think having the blood in the meat where it belongs would be better when you go to cook it. You can do a lot with those chamber vacuums. But $800?! And talk about counter space, I'd have to put it on a portable rolling cart for everyday use. They weigh in at close to 100 pounds and normally ship on a pallet as freight.

Never had any of these things and food saver is where I first went, they have been around a long time. But looks like they have gone downhill last few years and people are going through them pretty fast, many of them the sealed bags leak after a short time. They aren't as good as the old ones from what I have read. For reliability have looked hard at the Weston mid sized that cooks illustrated likes https://www.amazon.com/Weston-65-06...00RW5YZ9I/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

And then discovered the chamber sealers. And the newer foodsaver deluxe people seem happy with too. I'm one to say buy once cry once however chamber sealers are spendy. Think I'm as confused as when I started. Until Rob said he would buy another chamber sealer in a heartbeat. Think I'll explore that rabbit hole a bit more again.

    Thanks for the input everyone.
