Hmm, that's funny that's exactly where I'm headed as well. I'm actually going to go run some errands this time instead of packing myself into the waiting area like a sardine. I'll go back and watch the second half after it clears out!

Was excellent. Refreshingly hoppy and best when very cold.

It was good, but outside normal type that I like. It was a dark brown almost like a nut brown with a smokey finish. My first thought when I tasted it was like a thin Guinness.

Now, that's some good stuff right there. We visited Bamberg in the Fall of 2015 specifically to hit up Schlenkerla. Great food and awesome beer. When we visited, they were serving their Erbock, which is a smoked bock and it was excellent. As a tribute, I recently brewed up a smoked schwarzbier and have it currently on tap.

It's from a local brewer who's quickly growing in distribution. They recently moved to a new location opening a really cool restaurant and more that quadrupling their brewing capacity.

Not a big fan of New Belgium's IPAs, but I love their Lips of Faith series.

An interesting tidbit on New Belgium.....they pasteurize their beer (as do most bigger breweries). Not a big deal with some styles, but if you take your favorite local non-pasteurized IPA, heat it up to 161 degrees and cool it back down, you'll notice the difference side-by-side with one that was cold stored the whole time.

 This is from the Ska Brewery site:
"Some beers are easy to find because they are everywhere, like bad teeth in England. Others are a little harder because they take a whole lot more care to make, like a good fish taco. Here’s where you can find our fresh and tasty brew."
