Thought I would throw up some of my new pics. Tried something new with the TRD vinyls. I think everything looks alot better overall.

Looks good. I've been thinking about taking everything except Toyota Tacoma off the tailgate. Thanks for giving me a preview.

You mean like this. That's how I had it at first then decided it would look better with just Tacoma on it. They both look good though, IMHO.

Thanks! I was actually thinking of painting all my Tacoma badges black. I just don't know how to prep them good with all the crevases and letter centers.

it'd be best to debadge them, paint them, and then use some 3m 2-sided tape and put them back on

this is what im gonna do with my side emblems on my 04.......paint them black. all you really need to do is get some adhesion promoter, clean and spray them good with that, and then use the paint of your choice(i'll probably use krylon fusion), and the paint should stay pretty damn good.

and i agree with hodgey.....remove them for painting, then use either the 3m tape or some liquid adhesive for the emblems......3m would be best!!

Yeah, I would definately take them off first. But trying to ruff them up with sandpaper would be nearly impossible in every spot.

Looks good. Keep going. I love my clean truck. Having no badge is such a head turner. Everyone know's that it's a Toyota. No need to proclaim anything.

Waxing and polishing show a seamless, undisturbed and pristine sea of beautiful paint.

with some adhesion promoter......you wouldnt need to sand them. just degreasing them would be enough, cause the adhesion promoter actually makes paint stick to plastics!!

u wouldnt really need to sand them w/ using krylon fusion either. if u can do the bhlm w/o sanding and using the fusion, u should be ok w/ the badges

this true, but i think i'd use the adhesion promotor on the emblems cause they will see ther weathering alot more than the inside of the headlights. it just lets the paint bond a good bit better than a regular primer does.

Looks good. Anyone out their own a 2005 and removed there emblems having any problems with the paint where the letters use to be?(Any type of fading? I want to remove my emblems but being on the truck now for 3 years I am hesitant in doing so) Any advice?

    Thanks!

Go for it- If the paint is faded you can buff it/ get it buffed by a pro and usally take care of any visable variations in the paint.
