Kind of what I was wondering, they felt a little thin when I handled them.(that's what she said) Also if they hold the socket nicely. I hear some of the metal ones are either too strong or too weak for getting socket on or off.

Can't speak for all of them ever made, but mine are tight. Not so tight that it's hard to remove them, but they're positively locked in. I'd recommend them based on the dozen or so I have in my box, but I suppose like all things HF there are good ones and bad ones.

That said, they're easily modified for fitment with a pair of pliers - it couldn't be a simpler design. Too loose and you can spread the lock end apart, too tight and you can close it up a bit. I didn't have to mess with any of mine.

Time will tell! My socket sets snapped on the holders good, and are user friendly. Thanks.

Really solid construction, keys lock all drawers with one turn, rolls smoothe, and came with precut drawer liners. This is a HB thread so there's no reason to compare it to $2,000 tool boxes. But I looked at Lowes and Home Depot and this HF tool box is amazing for the price.

I might have looked at their longer rolling tool cabinets more but I wanted one with a solid wood top. That's why I got the Milwaukee.

Not exclusive at HF, but is stuff worked great at removing rust. Tried vinegar and a wire brush before. But used this stuff and let it soak overnight and worked amazing.

I've broken countless HF sockets... Wait until Craftsman sets go on sale and pick yourself up a complete mechanics (350 piece) set for under $150... Seriously good tools for the price. Can't beat craftsman warranty!

I couldn't agree more, when cross shopping toolboxes I was surprised by the quality boxes HF offered.

Yeah the sears store is closing by me. I just grabbed some jack stands and a ratcheting box end set that were marked down 40% each. Ace hardware in my area stocks craftsman.
