    Good thought. What year? I find awd cars kinda lethargic. Really just for the fact you can't "fuck off" in one. You can go fast in a straight line and around corners but there's no real danger of over driving one. Having said that, my buddy has a 04' STI on coilovers and about 400whp and I enjoy driving it but after riding in my car, some things in the wrx are really off. Seat is WAY too tall, dash layout is strange, shifter feel is loose and that lack of top end power is something to get used to. I love the visibility in it though. Even with that massive hood scoop, you can damn near see the road right in front of the bumper, but once again, the seat position feels terrible for a "driver's car". Another buddy has a 16' STI and the interior is super nice but besides that, it's not really exciting and it's just not that great looking. People think a wrx/sti is a performance car until they drive it comparative to a performance car and realize it's a sporty 4 door sedan

    exhaust reroute questions...
    1. Does 2nd gen v6 use 2-1/4 or 2-1/2 tubing?
    2. Do i have to ask for stainless or do shops generally use that anyway?
    3. If getting stainless, am i going to have to specifically ask shop to use stainless wire for the welding too so i don't get ugly rusted out welds after a few years?

    yeah im thinking 2017 wrx premium 6mt. Agreed I would prefer something rwd and more power but Im in school in Boone and we get a shit load of snow. A rwd car is simply not an option as much as i would like to own one for the fun factor. Agreed two main issues with the wrx is the new 2.0 fa motor given it does run out of power at high rpm and the seating position. Coming from the tacoma, the seating position was fine for me, not great. I would replace the seats at some point with something sportier, not because of the awkward seating position but for the lack of "hug" the seat provides. I have heard getting rid of some factor back pressure with a exhaust and tune helps with the top end power issue but who knows.

    1. Without researching it again, I'm gonna say it's somewhere in between that. Like 2.35" or close to that. I welded on 2.5" and my muffler is 2.5" in and 2.5" out.
    2. Shops will not automatically use stainless. They will most likely use cold rolled steel, which is cheap and easy to work with.
    3. Yes. Ask for it to be tig welded. That's how you weld stainless correctly. Now you CAN weld stainless to other metals and with steel wire but it's gonna be crap and obviously will rust. Stainless is easily contaminated and will rust just as fast as mild steel when mixed with other metals so if you want a stainless exhaust then ideally you want a steel flange to bolt to a stainless flange, not welded together.

    Actually you have to use stainless wire to weld stainless to carbon steel. A basic carbon wire will just "lay" on top of the stainless. But everything else is pretty much spot on
