I have a 99 toyota tacoma 4x4 access cab . My first tacoma and want to find a camper shell for it . I have a couple leads maybe local .

Truck is at buddy's body shop so I am curious if anyone knows the size of my bed?

Next ,will a 2013 short bed double cab camper shell work on mine ? A guy I know has one but not sure If it will work . Thanks for any help

No, the 2013 short bed double cab camper shell will not give a proper fit. I would strongly recommend getting the gen 1 access cab camper shell and nothing else. You have a 6' long bed. I have the same truck

Defiantly a 1st gen extracab shell, which will match the contour of the rear of your cab. I have an A.R.E. MX, and it fits great.

It came on a 2000 Tacoma I owned some time ago, but I have the original invoice. The guy paid $1,500 and had it painted to match (Lunar mist, but my truck is black pearl).

Anyway, look for a used one. They usually go for several hundred, no matter the brand.

Also make sure you have a 6' shell for an xtra cab and not a 6' shell for a regular cab. The contours of the cabs are different.

I had a leer shell on my 1st gen (same body style as yours). It ran me $1000 new with no upgrades (in 2005), but I bet you can do a lot better than that on your local craigslist. As an example, I got a barely used snug top shell for my 2015 for $350.

It can take a while to find what you're looking for. I spent a few weeks looking, then one morning, there were three that fit my needs perfectly!

I wish that happened with women...

So there are no other models that will fit except for my access cab model pretty much , I have a guy with a 04 snug fit off double cab for sale cheap . Seems like everyone has double cab trucks!
