Wanted to know if any taco owners have removed the ugly ass air dams on their trucks yet. What size wrench will work for it and how does it look after taking it off cause I've heard that it leaves an aftermark showing that you took it off. And does it actually make any difference on mpg I know that it does help clear slightly bigger tires without it on. Thanks

People take it off and sell them on here all the time. TRD Off roads don't come with them, so I don't know how to remove it or the efficiency loss, but I can see where I could mount one.

Lay under there and check it out

So you have bolts in the place where they usually would be an air dam on my trd sport?

Nope, just a bunch of empty holes.

I'd imagine it used those plastic clips OR screws with clips that it screws into.

I really think the removal is simple. Bring a flat screw driver or Phillips. Should be all you need.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

No problem. I'm glad mine didn't come with it! But I did consider getting one for long road trips. Save some MPGs.

It's a 10mm socket and about 9-10 screws. It will take 5 min to remove.

This. It was super easy. I put the screws back in to protect the threads from dirt etc. should I ever decide to put it back on. I lost a little less than 1mpg in removing it though but I've only had one fill up in between.

Keep us posted on the MPG loss?
I'm interested to know if I'll benefit from buying a used one for long trips.

Will do, I'm not sure if what I noticed is a change in my driving habits or the air dam. Its so small its hard to tell.

Not really a hot item. But they do get listed on here. You'll do better on eBay or
    Craigslist

Took mine off about 1k miles ago. You have a screw on the end of each side and 6-8 on the outside in the middle. I didn't notice a difference in mpg.

I took mine off within the first week. I didn't like the square tubes that show on each side without it so I modified it ( shortened it up by about two inches ) and put it back on. Still looked like crap so it's in my garage attic now. Truck looks better with the added clearance without it. I can live with the tubes showing I guess. But.... now I want to drop the coin to get the TRD Skid Plate!
