    Stuff. Also things.
I'm starting small. Not sure how far I want to go down the rabbit hole with this, and I wanted to see if I was a complete dumbass.

That said, I'll likely go straight to the general exam shortly. I'm confident that I can nail the technical side; it's the regulatory stuff that is likely to get me.

well shit, maybe I'm starting with the wrong one. I think I just read that the technician test is first. Starting over now.

:rofl:no wonder you felt like a dumbass.

When @chenbro and I took our tests and passed, we tried the next one because we could and it didn't cost anything.
    Both failed

Yep, get an app or whatever that random selects the questions and gives the answers. Everyone who I know that passed (other then @Lars) just memorized the questions and answers for Technical.

This will not work for the higher levels past Technical, questions there you actually have to understand the theory behind it.

So the app I found has a shit ton of study elements. Each section in the pic below has a bunch of sub sections to study and answer questions on. And this is just the Technicians part. I guess once I master this the test should be a breeze.

you know what, after studying the flashcards on the General, it started to sink in. Took several hours and my legs went numb, but I was making progress.

    Yes.
Honestly. Go take a few practice tests at qrz.com (under resources) Then only study the sections you're doing badly on.....
if you're in the 80% or better on 10 consecutive practice tests stop studying and get licensed already!

    Here's another Gauntlet thrown....

My Mom (WI9VAL) was an elementary school art teacher, who didn't know the first thing about electronics, passed her technicians test the first time out with less than a month of studying. She also went on to pass her General.
If y'all can't get this done by the end of Feb. Y'all should turn in yer man cards. :)

Eric, would it be possible to get together some night soon and have you show me programming? I currently do not have a cable and would like to get familiar with the setup of the UV-5R.

I'm in no hurry, whenever it's convenient for both of us is fine. I'd just like to get it setup for trail com at some point and mess around with everything.

I saved the NOAA channel tonight, so I guess that's some progress :cookiemonster:
