It's worth skimming through the Navigation manual if you haven't yet done so.

Voice guidance is on page 62. Apps>>Setup>>Voice Uncheck "Automatic Navigation Guidance"

Change orientation perspective by tapping the compass icon on the map screen. Page 198 of the same manual. Cycles through three different options; North up, Current heading up, 3D perspective.

No worries. It's a lot to absorb.

FYI the manuals are available as PDF downloads. It makes finding stuff a lot easier when you can do text searches.

EDIT -- and congrats on the new truck. I highly recommend you now sign off of TW and go enjoy it. Reading here can contribute to vehicle-hypochondria unless you take things with a big grain of salt.

    Ahhh, ok.

Go up to the top of the page and on the right side click "You"...then "Personal Details". It's in there.

I actually have a related question. I don't mind the voice navigation, but I would love to turn off the ding/beep that it makes immediately before she speaks each time. Sometimes when driving in the city it sounds like truck is dinging constantly. Anyone with any ideas on how to shut that particular sound off? I have gone through the entire manual and all of the nav options and nothing has worked.

You mean the dings when you are getting close to a turn and then when you are at it?

Did you try turning off voice guidance?

I'm sure that would work, but I want to keep the voice guidance. I just don't want it to ding every time she talks. All of my previous vehicles would just turn down the radio momentarily and give the direction.

Ya, that was the same in the Gen 2 too (except I don't think it turned down radio volume..can't remember), but I don't think there is a way to turn only the beeps off if using voice guidance in the Gen 3.

I agree, it can be annoying. I really don't use nav a lot.

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
I want the voice guidance as well.... I'd just rather she wasn't fucking screaming at me while i am on the phone. Mute function would have been nice. Thanks Entune!

Thanks for the info. I'm sure it is something that I'll get used to, but when a new passenger gets in the truck it'll drive them nuts!

Your screen in the dash shows upcoming turns. I know it's not as much of an alert, but I'm just throwing it out there if you haven't noticed and want a different choice.

That will just turn down/mute the voice guidance in general right?
