How did you like your Iron Pig? Those ol' FJ's still fetch a pretty good price today.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate it. I feel the same way watching the money go. At first I was hoping to get some inheritance, then hoping she would have enough to live comfortably, now just hoping Brookdale keeps their promises. I have a feeling they will move her to their lowest level shit building once they have her last dime. At that point they will turn to me and start the bloodletting. In a little over a year they have consumed 300K of her savings.

Absolutely loved it, and everything about Iron Pig in general. Took it everywhere with manual hubs and no power steering, manual choke. Pulled everyone else out of the woods with it and blazed a lot of my own trails on over grown logging trails. Drove it from the West Coast to the East coast with a small U haul trailer after the 83 World Cruise containing all my worldly possessions in it. Guns, reloading equipment, camping gear, smoker and grill. Going up the long mountain in Utah started to pass a Bronco and the guy was wearing a smokey bear hat and shook his head no. I slowed down and got behind him surprised he didn't give me a ticket.

Got married and it was the first thing to go, wife hated it. She called it the beast. Sold it to a Sr. Chief Seabee that was headed to Alaska. Was married for 25 years then the wife left. I should have kept the FJ.

If I could find an 80 with lockers front and back low milage good shape I'd be all over it.

Never heard anyone have anything bad to say about those other than the departure angle. I look at the inventory of Mastodon MC www.mastodon4x4.com every so often. Those guys import a lot of nice stuff to include some of the Venezuela made FJ's

Got thinking about this and I vote if you even THINK they will come after you I would get a lawyer and talk to them NOW.

We never did litigation however did consultation with lawyers in both Fl. and NC. Turns out these places run under different rules in different States. Also makes a difference if it is State run or even County run, or private. And each private center has different contracts from what we saw. It is so convoluted it does take a lawyer to make it through the mess.

Cost us a couple hundred an hour in both States but was worth it. My youngest sister was going to have Mom live at her place and try to take care of her and claim her as a dependent on taxes. Turns out if she would have done that Mom would not get State aid when her money runs out, and run out it will. Just for peace of mind I'd pay those outrageous lawyer fees it may be worth it in the long run.

As the baby boomers, and us, get older there are going to be fewer beds available in this market. They are in high demand and only going to grow in demand. Medical expenses for the elderly are high and don't think they are going to drop anytime soon. A lot more lawyers are graduating than doctors each year. Not that we don't need lawyers too, but not going to trust one to take care of my medical needs if I have a stroke.

Here's to hoping you don't need it to ever jump your truck! But nice to have when there isn't a tree to plug your electronic equipment into when they run out of power :)

I'm not worried they will sue me; just that I will be in a situation where I either cough up my money or they put mom into a bad place. She already invested heavily into this place and would only get a fraction if she left the contract. It was her decision and it seemed a great idea at the time. Now they are dictating where she lives and the rates keep changing. They promised the world when she started writing checks, but the "promise makers" are long gone. Even upper level management has changed a few times. These people must be making a killing.

Started off at -10 this morning up to 1 above now which is supposed to be high. Although Rob could likely make me feel good about the weather here. High of 8 above tomorrow today is the first time got above zero all week, and just barely. But no snow in the forecast so I'll take it. Wait 25 on Monday. And #$% snow again. Only January hang in there it will get better. Sometime in April :goingcrazy:

I know you guys in the south get pretty messed up when winter comes and visits. Frozen pipes, no snow removal gear,it has gotta be frustrating.

It's 80 degrees out today, if we ever had snow it would be chaos. At worst we get a cold snap in the 20's and all the strawberries freeze.

Actually, scratch that, we get a freeze and the strawberry farmers drain the aquifer to encase their plants in ice. Then the surrounding neighborhoods collapse into sinkholes. Maybe snow would be better.

I so want to visit this park, but my last visit to Orlando wasn't so great. The whole place seems old and everyone is diving for my wallet.
As a kid, I would visit the theme parks at least 3-4 times a year. Now I'd rather work in shed or drink a beer by the pool.

Though I still want to see Potterland one day. Any suggestions on a good time to visit?
