Alright all you battery gurus, I need some advice. My current battery is 5 years old (It's an Everstart Maxx) so I'm expecting it to go out soon. And I'm still debating a few things. I don't have a whole ton of extra things drawing power but I will be adding a 20" and a 50" light bar soon. Maybe a winch in a couple years, but that's all. No plan for onboard fridge etc.

First question, is it worth it to get a deep cycle AGM? I'm looking at the rebranded Northstar from Batteries Plus. This would run me about $270 total with tax right now. Is this worth it compared to another Everstart Maxx that'd run me about $100 total?

Secondly, if I ever decide to do a dual battery set up (I haven't looked into this much at all) would two of the Everstarts suffice?

Not much info from me, but more of a question? 5 yrs on that battery? That's fantastic. Usually the desert kills them in 2-3 years. Maybe 4 at the most, but rarelly. Sorry to bring your question off course. Just had to comment.

If you put that in your butt, is it considered oral?

Sorry, I just checked. It was purchased in Oct. 2012, so it's a few months over 4 years old.

That's what I've heard about AGM from some folks so good to hear from you Ryan. I'm just trying to determine if it's worth the extra money.

I tried looking these up and didn't find much...I found something at Sears and one at B+. I don't think these are AGM though?

That was another thought that crossed my mind! What good is a 3 year warranty if the company isn't around in 3 years.

Well, finally had out last "christmas" I think my TWSS got me the best gift out of my family. So I just ordered all the stuff I had hoped they would have gotten me. New knife, wallet, weatherman raptor scissors for work, a license plate holder for the truck and an AR trigger to be named at a later date.

After that, I am cut off from spending. They wifey says its time to ditch my bachelor pad and get a proper family house. SO she is freezing all spending and I am brown bagging it to work. :ballchain:

It sucks man, but fun part is once the house is bought and you get back to normal the joy of blowing wads of cash to make up lost time is fun. The wife and I paid off debt and got our credit super good for about 2 years while we saved our down payment. After the house closed we bought so much for the house, and I bought so many toys for myself hah.

I bought my house 6 years ago and loaded it up. Then she moved in and we purged a little bit from both houses. Now with 3 kids it is time to upgrade from an 1100 sq ft house with a small yard and a party pool to something without an HOA.

She is enticing me with a 3 car garage and RV gates.

VA loan ftw, no down, no pmi.

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
Bought my house in 2008 for 119k. VA loan, no money down & no PMI. Just had it appraised to see where we would stand if we decided to move soon, came in at 210k.

    Def happy about that!
