I think it's the material of the 2nd gen dash. I have tried mounting other things and had the same problem even if I cleaned it beforehand.

thats a cool idea, but why not put it near the dash somewhere and facing toward you. right now it's just a holder, to change songs you have to take it out, you could do the same thing and have it visible for the driver and passenger.

Actually that would work for people using the aux input, I have an aftermarket screen so i control the IPOD through its interface. I do not need to remove it for anything but syncing to my computer.

Although this could be bad for theft considering it is in plain sight. That is why the IPOD doesnt stay in it when parked though.

I have yet to see anyone with a Streamlight mounted here.

And I have Subaru Impreza seats, haven't seen that one either.

ahh I see, so if your using an aux input it would work nicely, although then you have a wire hanging there.
my HU has the ipod interface too, so my ipod sits in the glove box, and the cable runs behind the dash, that way no one knows I have it and I don't have to take it out each time I get out of the truck.

    yours looks cool though..

Almost forgot about this Mod. It wasn't easy to take a shot of it since it's in the mirror, hopefully y'all can see it okay.

Nothing crazy but very convenient :). 400 Watt inverter is under the driver side seat and I have a USB charging port that comes out by the cup holders/cubby. Although I am having trouble getting the LED to light up when it's turned on even though it's turning the inverter on . I guess I just need to mess with it a bit more

I'm guessing my most unique mod would have to be my mirrors...
They were once chrome mirror covers with built in turn signals... I molded them to my OEM mirrors to make it look like an oem one piece mirror. (you can't tell they are covers.)
I then smoked the turn signal.
They are still a work... I need to finish painting them....
    Here are a few pics:
