LoL I could have guessed it lol. Oh well I am not worried they're flipping the bill for the rental lol. Just wish they would've had a truck or SUV available to make it hurt more for making me wait for an out of town adjuster. Christmas holidays had all the SUV and Trucks rented out lucky insurance company lol

Wow, i didnt stumble accross this thread until now, so sorry to see this happened Carlos!! Glad you are ok as well. Its pretty amazing to see how well the bumper held up to the hit. Its also good to know that the air bags deployed as they are supposed to with the aftermarket bumper in place!

Thank you and yes, thanks to the bumper the damage was substantially reduced. I really believe the bumper helped me walk away from this one with nothing more than a ringing in my ear (thanks to the air bags) and a small cloth burn from the seat air bag to my arm. Now I just need to wait for the adjuster to get another prototype style ordered lol

Yes, I really dig into that F150 lol. Yeah, unfortunately this happened, but I will try not to get rid of her. I will definitely try to rebuild her better. One thing that C4 bumper really save my rear. I me not even the fins on the transmission cooler where bent. I was amazed how much damage that bumper protected my truck from. Here is a pick with the bumper off. Excuse the wired mess. The bend on the lower frame is from hitting his hitch. 20170101_141952_Film2.jpg

'effing crushed that F150! Nice work!

I did the same to a F150 with my Ranger back in 2012. Totaled both trucks. Got a new Tacoma out of it :D

I would think bent frame = totaled but, who knows.

Exactly what i said when i saw the damage! I was like "id rather have hood and headlight damage than radiator and engine damage" - light frame damage will happen no matter what in that type of crash (especially with a stock bumper) And the fact that your air bags still deployed is a good thing. Keep your head up! I look forward to seeing this beast return!

Yes hopefully she'll be back on the road breaking necks once more soon. If everything goes as planned I plan to get another set of C4 bumpers front and rear this time. The wife already approved the the rear now it's just a matter of waiting on the insurance. :pout:

Typically. It can be tough to get that stuff right, so a lot of insurance company's just punt it and send the vehicle to salvage auctions. They don't want to chance a continuing series of repairs. (My dad's hobby when I was a kid was buying totaled cars and rebuilding them... I was handing him wrenches when I wasn't yet counter-high)

Damn! Glad you're ok. Toyota is a hell of alot tougher than people think. After seeing how that ate the ass end of that Ford I can say I know what my first real mod is going to be.

I can't see that being totaled unless the cab crumpled. New frame, and some front end pieces and should be good to go.

So it is official... It's totaled with no buy back. Insurance said if I want it back, I would need to purchase it at auction. Well luckily my brother in law owns the body shop so I got a chance to remove everything the insurance was not paying for. Here is just the cost of repairs $12k was just airbags. This was with straightening the frame.Screenshot_2017-01-06-18-57-52~01.jpg

Yeah still unsure of what I want. So many nice toys, I'd probably have to start a vote to see what people think. I am torn between 4 vehicles at the moment unfortunately the all start at 100k
