A Pillar Gauge pods???

Ah. That's a cool way to mount that.

 

So does anyone have it installed on there 2010-2015? Loren says they don't make one for my year.

 

I don't think the a-pillar changed for 2005 through 2015. The worst that could happen is that you be out the return shipping, or do they have a very restrictive return policy?

 

I had the A-pillar pod. Grey. Slight variance in color to the original, but you can't notice because the dash is black, and there are no other grey plastic components near it to compare to. The handle mounting holes will need a little fine tuning with a dremel tool or exacto knife. Was long ago that I made those refinements, so I don't remember exactly. Other than that, it looked good.

Only major complaint was that with the registration/inspection stickers in that corner of the windshield, the protrusion of the gauges, and the mirror, the blind spot in that area was moreso than before. Only in tight close turning scenarios would it present itself as troublesome.

I have the Craven Speed gauge pod holder now. Tilt is all dependant on the quality of the gauges which you purchase. I have tilt. All of it. What I mean by "quality of gauges," is that the higher end gauges will be much more compact, in front to rear depth. Sensors will also follow the same rule. Therefore allowing a full range of motion, without gauge interference of cluster bezels.

 

The problem is due to the newer models with side curtain airbags. The Airbags may / will not deploy properly with the A-pillar pods. Imagine the airbags going off and the driver being smacked with gauges, and plastic bits. The manufacture cannot recommend the installation on vehicles with side curtain airbags due to the liability involved during an airbag deployment.

I've been to numerous salvage yards and pulled pillars from a 2015. The pods should fit, but I would use them at your own risk.

Get the cravenspeed steering wheel pod it's also machined metal powder coated.

 

I don't really like the idea of the gauge flying out if the airbag deploys. I may go craven

yeah, terrible blind spots. Have to be very cautious if adding gauges in the A-pillar.

 

I have a Lotek pillar pod. I'm happy with it, honestly. I read a lot of reviews on here about fitment issues/crazy dremelling/color mismatching, but I ordered one anyway knowing I could make it work. Received it in about 2 weeks, and I'm happy with it. Only had to trim my grab handle (small alignment tab on each end was snipped off) and that was it. Color is slightly off, but not enough for me to care, or anyone to notice unless you really look at it. I had to do zero trimming of the pillar itself. Just finessed it into position, seeing that it does extend lower than the factory pillar. I just moved it around until the grab handle holes lined up, and everything fit fine. As far as blind spots, I'm only 5'6" and don't notice that much of a difference, since the grab handle is in my face anyways lol.

Side note- this is on a 2013 Access Cab. Currently running GlowShit Oil Pressure and Voltmeter gauges, which will be replaced with AEM Boost and AFR gauges soon . My phone was picking up the white of the gauge LED and turning it blue. But the daytime picture, you can see the color difference between the grab handle and pillar. Also, I'd like to know how the airbag in the pillar would deploy (even without this pod), since the grab handle is screwed into the metal pillar frame anyways? There's no breakaway in there so that the grab handle doesn't come flying off and hit you in the face anyways...

 

Looks- color is a little off. Looks fine to me though.
Fitment- doesn't suck.
