Installed a K & N air filter , followed all instructions and completed every step. Now every time I try to start it shuts down. Can anybody help me? I tried to disconnect battery for 5 minutes that didn't work, check all seals and everything is tight. Help

So this is right after installing it? As in you popped in the filter and that was it or did you drive for abit before it started to happen ? If it was be latter possibility the filter was over oiled and got your MAF sensor all messed up or dirty

Never pulled out of the driveway and it's not a oil filter, the maf sensor is fine

I know it's not an oil filter but K&N filters are oiled filters to help trap more elements.

That's odd that it happened. I mean it's just a filter replacement .

You may have a loose or disconnected vacuum hose causing your problem . recheck your install steps to make sure you didn't loosen or disconnect a vacuum hose

New K&N filters are very lightly oiled from the factory and sealed in a plastic bag . If it was over oiled you would see evidence on the bag it was placed in , don't think it's the issue the OP is experiencing

Check all hoses and clamps. It'll start and start to sputter and shut down. It's a K&N 63 Series Aircharger Air Intake System - 63-903

That's true . You're probably right about the vacuum hose.

Recheck and or tighten the clamps that secure the rubber flex couplings on the cold air intake tube . If one is loose or not completely installed over the CAI tube it will draw air in behind the MAF causing driveability issues such as you're experiencing

You made sure to install the MAF oriented the correct way, right?

For shits & giggles, try switching to your old air filter and see if that solves it.

It's not an air filter he installed, it's an entire K&N intake.

Oh I thought it was drop in air filter that was replaced. From his original post he said filter and not a whole system so I just assumed a dropped in filter

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Try disconnecting all your plugs and putting them back in. Sounds like something is not fully plugged in. Make sure they all snap back in place.
