The lower dash panel has already been removed - I took the opportunity last night to reroute my Bluetooth wiring and microphone. The panel also needed to be removed so I could run the gauge wiring where I needed to with some amount of ease.

What Bluetooth wiring, do you have an aftermarket radio or some other Bluetooth gadget?

I have a Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS that was installed by the previous owner. The Bluetooth mic that I rerouted came with the HU and was clipped on the circular lip of the dashboard gauges. No one could hear me so I rerouted the wiring to the overhead console and clipped onto that instead hopefully folks can hear me now. I'd give an organ to use the OEM BT microphone but apparently it isn't possible or extremely difficult. Some such thing that one day I'll look into.

I uninstalled my Bully Dog and put the setting back at stock. The Bully Dog is a piece of shit for my truck. With the BD 2.85 Pulley and Manual Transmission "tune" I couldn't go WOT without hitting 16-17:1 on my AFR. Not only that, I would receive the P0101 MAF error once a week.

Now that my truck is back at the stock tune... I am able to go WOT, hit 8lbs of boost all the while being at or below 14.7:1. I can really feel the torque and responsiveness of the supercharger. Guess what... no P0101 errors.

If you're still having leaning out issues or the P0101 issues, I recommend trying the stock tune.

I remember someone with giving different tune options based off the years from 05-15. There were several different tunes. I wonder if BD works for some of those years and is crap for the others. I have a 2013 OR with a manual transmission and BD sucks for my truck.

I would not recommend stock tune for SC, like TRD SC instructions say:

Seems like there should be many different tunes available, like TRD flashes are (see page 55): http://www.trdsparks.com/install/PTR29-35120inst.pdf
Is there now only one BD file for 2005-2015 Tacoma M/T?

    Edit: what does this mean?
Is there some versions of Tacomas with some other ECU Calibration file, which can't be reflashed for the supercharger?

My situation was the same. Except that my truck displayed those same symptoms with both the "2.85" AND the "stock" Bully Dog tunes.

Sorry you had those issues. Welcome to the "Bully Dog Sucks" crew.

If you read in the back of the TRD installation manual, it lists the different vehicle configurations (x-runner, manual, auto, year etc) and the respective ECU calibration IDs for each configuration.

Any of those configurations that have a calibration ID listed are able to be flashed for a supercharger (at least via Techstream sowftware).

Flashing via a Bully Dog tuner is a different story and based on the reports I've seen here, some owners are pleased with the results and some are sorely disappointed.

I wish I had known this information in the beginning. I would have purchased the basic Magnuson kit without the Bully Dog. I would have saved $400-$600 (or whatever the price difference was) and just went straight to the dealer to get the TRD flash.

Yes, that was mentioned in my post too (page 55). Yes, all of those, but the first page says there is some other versions which are not listed (see the latest picture in my earlier message), this:

I don't disagree with you. I've read every word of that installation manual. Maybe I misunderstood your post? I don't know which models they are referring to in the part you circled, but MY truck is on the list. Calibration ID 3YWG4100.

I believe that when you get the code 550 on the Bully Dog and you go back to the PC to download the tunes, it downloads the correct one based on your vehicle. The Bully Dog tunes are named with the same calibration IDs that Toyota uses. This is why when someone tries to flash their truck with the Bully Dog first (and has trouble with the tune) and then goes to the dealer to try to get the TRD flash instead, the dealer says that the truck already has the most up to date tune.

Maybe they are doing separate tunes per model or maybe its just one size fits all and they just re-name them per what model you have. I remember @Gadget@URD either posted somewhere or maybe he said it when I talked to him one time that he's asked both Bully Dog and Magnuson for more info about the tunes and they don't seem to want to give him any info about it.

Their proprietary info made mine run like poo. A few others, too by the looks of it.

Unfortunately, we live too far from each other. I would have enjoyed trying to troubleshoot your issues.

In the end, we may not have fixed anything (most likely outcome), but would have jumped at the challenge. I spent a career troubleshooting helicopters in the Army and really miss those days and can't stand when something can't be solved. It makes zero sense, that the software works on most Tacomas, but not all.

I enjoy a good diagnostic challenge as well, which is probably one reason I do so well working in a Volkswagen dealership. I gave the Bully Dog a good try and ruled out a lot of of other things before finally giving up on it.

That just happen? Lol. Maybe the black dimmer wire to power and the white dimmer wire to the dash dimmer?

Just the SpeedHut gauges. The Tacoma's dimmer switch works in reverse. Although the green-white wire is the negative wire, at 0v the lights are on and 12v the lights are fully dimmed.

I could ground the the SpeedHut gauges to the green-white wire instead of the chassis, but I need to verify some things first. Don't feel like frying anything today.
