    just what I need to do what I want
    I have a bunch of family living in Idaho and I spoke with them last night. Wind chill of -35, two feet of snow, ice dams (?) on their roofs, and a threat of flooding. This is 30 minutes west of Boise, reports say has not been like this for 30 years. My mom is 83, just had hip replacement and is essentially trapped in her home. Niece is having roofer come on monday to break up ice on her roof so as to not have it melt and leak inside.
    And no rain in my corner of So Cal on Sat and sky is clear this am. Waiting...

    So.... My wife had plans to go visit her parental units today, leaving me to watch football alone. Which is ok with me.

    But then she says, "I need gas in my car, and it's way cold, can I take your truck?"

    I said ok, but she has never driven it, and normally drives a Yaris...

    So I guess I'm going to watch football while worrying about both her and the truck - not to mention the old adage "Once you drive black, you never give it back."
