    Awesome info... i bought my 05 used with 70k and it wasnt working when i bought it. quick question... one of ny buddies told me the unit gets its power from the stock radio and i have an after market system. so i guess my qeustion is... is that true?

    I cannot answer that, but so many people have aftermarket stereos, I'm guessing it shouldn't cause an issue... I'd think the wiring from that (IF it comes from the stereo) would come from a HOT wire, not the stereo itself... Anyone else? Chris4x4?

    Just complete this mod/fix... works like a charm and it only took me 20 minutes to finish with a total cost of around 8 bucks. And I've never sodered before...

    Be warned... The small 510 resistors were REALLY small - so small that once I fixed the one that was loose (sodering both ends) I accidentally bumped the other and ended up having to soder that on as well.

    Thanks for the write-up!! You saved me some loot!

    Another satisfied customer here.

    Funny thing is this thing turned off the day I did my deck and HIDs install.

    Took it out today and soldered it then it works fine. woot woot thanks for the writeup!

    Hey guys i just got done finishing soldering and the lights are back on but the temp wont go down.its like 38 here and it says 59 and isnt dropping for the first night. is this going to be accurate later on and be close to the real temp??? cause it is way off.

    AFE CAI, all synth fluids, 2.5" exhaust w/ FlowMaster, Optima Deep Cycle battery, Fog mod, SnugTop cap, HID headlights, silicone hoses
    Tnx for the excellent info on this fix. I happen to work in a circuit board manufacturing facility. I pulled the unit and had my best solderer check all the resistors. 4 quick solder joints on the 510's and she works like new. Excellent pictures, excellent flow. :cool:

    Mine stopped working the other day, Black, nothing. I have 56k on the truck so its out of war. You dont realze how much you use it till its gone. I guess thats my next mod. It is a mod right?
