I'm sure you guys get tired of redundant suspension questions but my search remains not entirely answered. Most have probably figured out what works thru trial and error so I hope to gain from their knowledge before spending money in the wrong direction.

My plan, and research has indicated this possible, is to lift my truck enough for 285/70/16's with 1.5in off-set rims, Bilstiens 5100's on highest setting, diff drop, plus 2 leaf AAL's in back leaving the overloads in as well.

The main controversy I have heard is both for and against UCA's being necessary with an under 3 inch lift. Is this an install, then see if it aligns kind of situation? Thanks for your responses.

For a 285/70/16 that will be perfect, I had almost the same lift and zero rub anywhere

if you mean 285/75/16, that's another story ..

edit: with just a 2.5" front lift you can still get your alignment in spec, or close enough to not worry about it

Yeah that was a typo on the 70 vs 75. What tire did you run that was 285/70?

It was nitto trail grapplers, the 285/75 isn't bad to clear. You could just do the lift, install the tires and it will rub on the cab mount and maybe the pinch weld in reverse. If you plan to wheel the truck then you bust out the hammer, and do a cab mount chop.
don't mind the trolls, they are everywhere and hardly contribute anything helpful

Recommend selecting proper springs to gain the lift you want, and setting the shocks to 0.

Preload to achieve lift reduces travel, risks coil bind, works the shock harder.

Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and tell her what your goals. She'll point you to the right spring.
