    We used to have lots of gerbils when I was a kid. Started off as two, Billy and Charlotte, then came a bazillion babies. All sorts of incestual shit going on. Had like fifty of em at one point, and then my brothers, who were 3 and 4 at the time, decided to let them all out while we were at school. Only found like ten of em, and lots of little skeletons when we emptied the house and moved from Newport News back to here. Then we had dwarf hamsters named Alvin and Bombo. Alvin turned out to be a girl. They had kids, and ate them all but one overnight. We saved the little half-eaten bastard, but he later died. Alvin died the next day, probably from eating her babies. Had Bombo for a long time after.
    We also had a ferret named Megatron. He was glorious. And we rescued a very young possum after my youngest brother accidentally stepped on him out on the paper route and had him for about a week before he started acting funny. Turns out he was dying from internal bleeding. He was cool as hell and would sit on your shoulder and eat out of your hand. Only possum I ever met that wasn't ornery.
