Personally if I were OP, I wouldn't sell these things to anyone. Way too much of a liability if anything were to go wrong. At least not in it's current stage.

All you gotta do is put the little disclaimer and we're safe.

Kinda like the "caution: contents are hot" on the McDonald's coffee cups

liability laws are far more complex than disclaimers, and do not stop a user from suing the OP or anyone else for that matter. While they "might" not win legals cases, tying someone up in a lengthy legal battle is essentially a death sentence for all involved.

You are exactly correct with your assessment. The toyota controlled S mode simply gets the request from the relay. It is still its decision to actually make the shift or not. I think toyota probably built plenty of safety into that system, thinking that someones kid might reach over from the passenger seat and pull the lever and those types of things. Since toyota stock shift mapping is so low, 99% of the time, the truck makes the shift as requested by the arduino. The only ones i had where it didnt make the shift and waited was if i had the pedal pushed down for very high acceleration.

As far as the OBD, there are now many people out there who leave ELM-327's plugged into their OBD ports when using Torque App, and Fusion, etc. This reads no more information, and actually requests less from that CAN than is provided from any of those devices/applications

Yup. OP should send me one for free so I can help him with his research

Actually I'm 100 percent satisfied with everything my Tacoma does but this is still awesome!

the only time im ever bother by my trucks driving is when i have 2 dirtbikes in the back, it seems to feel like it sorta surges on the highway. But that could be me being a ninny, the rear shocks moving on flat ground, the bigger tires or lift.

And, no, I dont currently have plans to offer anything for sale. The liability aspects scare me too much. This was more done for a research project, to keep me busy for a while and learn a few things.

Wow, this seems like an amazing project you have come up with. Great job on fixing what you did not like on the truck! While I understand that any mpg drop is worth it to you to provide the driveablilty that you want, I cant help wonder how much it affects the MPG.

Actually there are not many of those on the lots, I needed to special order mine, and know there are a few others here at TW, who have them on order.
