    I have a few configurations, depending on what boat, where, etc. I try not to put my kayak on top coming out of the salt water, although I did build a freshwater wash down tank.     Im about to get a kayak, but was thinking about just putting them in the bed and strapping it down with bungee cord. Is this a bad idea?

    I have an AC and personally would not transport anything longer than my 11.5 Lure without an extender.

    Here is my DCLB. We have a 14' and a 12' kayak. I was planning on moving one of the Thule crossbars from the cap to the cab to center the kayaks over the truck. So when pulling your camper there will not be a possibility to bump the kayaks with the trailer on tight turns. On researching the possibility, I read that it is not recommended because the cab and bed twist and move independently. I have seen pictures of trucks that have done this. Has anyone here done this on their truck and did you experience any problems?

    Since this topic isn't really 3rd gen specific, you might find the many lengthy threads on the topic over in the Sports/Fishing/Boating forums to be very informative as well.

    In the meantime, I'll just leave this here. I like simple solutions.

    Those are 15', and no, they do not rub each other or the bed. 26" beam.

    Oak Orchard Canoe up in your area sells several setups utilizing a rack on the cab and a rack attached to the bed or rear bumper so I would assume it's ok as they have a good reputation. Check out their website for pictures.

    Here's what I use. I put my kayak in the cradle, and a canoe or second kayak on the other side.

    Beater trailer. I refinished..with 15 inch wheels. You could score one for 4-600. Same price as an expensive rack..carry all your toys. I have Bike mounts behind the husky box

    Hey, I'm looking at this setup and posted a bunch of questions about it in this thread post #80, could you check that out and see if you can help me out with some info? I think this is going to be the best setup for my needs (kayaks, up to 4 if I can pull it off) but wanted more details before I pull the trigger.
