my steering has been really loose as of late and would pop under tight turning and get either drastically tighter or worse after the pop.
Well we got 6 inches of snow in North Carolina yesterday so me and my 4x4 buddies know of a cornfield that is kinda secluded and decided to raise a little hell..... and my steering completely gave out just free spinning now I've found the weak point just can't figure out what the name of the part.

Hard to tell what is wrong in the pic, but the big part with the 2 bolts and 2 pins is called a rag joint.

What is the part directly above the rag joint and below the steering shaft extension?

Hard to tell from the pic, but the first tube should be attached to the rag joint, the tube above it should be the spline coupler for attaching the steering shaft to the rag joint.
From what I can see it looks like the coupler slid down. maybe???
