Ah man that sucks. Well hopefully you can get through tomorrow and be able to sleep good tomorrow.

 

I hope so, im going to see the doctor today to readjust my meds, im hoping that fixes it, cause ive been completely out of whack for the last two weeks

 

I do volunteer work at VA and I have to get up @ 0330 many times.

Sitting in VAMC parking lot last 30 minutes reading newspaper & drinking my coffee before 0600 meeting today

 

Matthew are you still on second shift?

 

I thought Fedex or Ups at first but I didnt think they flew Airbus. How do you like working for them?

 

It's good man. I'm not concerned with industry ups & downs like I was at my previous employers and we get raises every year. I'm on the line so it mostly only involve walk arounds & turning the jets.

Of course over time our benefits have been affected. The new healthcare law & pension funding requirements having been the significant issues over the last 5 to 8 years. Both requirements have had a negative impact on our work group as the company attempts to stay in compliance & avoid the cost (tax) if our plan aren't adjusted. Turns out it's reduced coverage/higher expense for the individual.

As far as fleet mix. Fdx & ups fly the A300 & Fdx has some tho not many A310-300s remaining tho that number will be zero within a few years.

 

Sounds like a pretty sweet gig. I always preferred the line over heavy checks but I dont have much of a choice where they put me. Keep em flying! Heavy check gets repetitive quick. Once they figure out you can run a heavy check they want to keep you there.
We had experienced the same issues with new medical laws. The coverage went down and the premiums went up.

Now that the holidays are over back to work as usual

 

I like the holidays (Christmas), but when they are over it's like a weight has been lifted and the stress level goes way down. Back to the routine.

there is talk about moving me to a 12hr night shift ...we will see.

 

been doing them for about 14 months now. now to bad. only 21 months left

 

this is 100% true in the airline industry, you come in to work one day, 6 short turns with 200 bags off, 200 on plus 3000lbs of freight, then you come in the next day to three turns with 60 bags off, 80 going on with 100lbs of freight, its insane.

 

Just made my $100 donation to the Commonwealth for the next P.O. Exam... 9+ years experience apparently isn't a good enough qualifier.
