image.jpg Just added a set of Apex bed rail mounts and a Hi-Lift Jack. Hade to use a thin bungie to quite small handle rattles. The rail mounts fit perfect, adjust easily and are really well built.

Also used two "same key" master locks through the rail mounts for some basic security.

I have the short arm, I like it keeps the phone in good view, but doesn't block my back up camera.

Ground Plane in antenna theory does not have to do with electrical grounding. It means the antenna needs a large flat surface around it at the base of the antenna. With the antenna ideally being a quarter of the wavelength at 102" this means it needs a big flat space around the antenna.

Something to bounce the signal off to reach out. That is why rooftops are the best place for antenna placement, height and ground plane.

Yes DC, RF and plane grounds all have different purposes. Sometimes the best location isn't the most functional. I needed a system that will allow me to park in my garage, keep a tonneau cover and not slap the hell out of my camper while cruising down the highway. Rooftop setup isn't fitting in my garage( even with a quick release) and I need to run a tonneau to protect my camp gear. That leaves me with hood or tailgate both of which I've used in the past without problems. As far as ground strapping the purpose is to bond body panels, frame ect to create more of a continuous plane.
As of now with the install finished last night lol, the system seems to be working great at the moment. If your still concerned Ill post up my SWR readings on my build thread latter today after I take them. I'll also post next week after Big Rig Radios in Phoenix does my pro tune. I may have a new antenna by then since this firestick was from my last setup. Thinking about the 4' flexible Wilson and ditching the spring.

Ordered the un-holey mount, ram ball and entune knobs almost 2 weeks ago...unfortunately they are backed up on orders and haven't shipped mines yet. I am patiently waiting but if it hits 3 weeks ill start getting PO'd. When did you order yours?

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Oil change and tire rotation. 15k miles (I do it every 5k - truck hasn't been back to the dealer since purchase).

Cleaned the insides of the rims with soap and water to keep them looking new. Painted the sheet metal shield that covers the oil filter as it was already starting to rust. My 2004 and 2010 honda's have less rust on the undersides as my 2016 taco. Go figure.

Well, I wrecked my Tacoma. 2016 TRD Sport 4X4...you can see it in my profile picture. Black ice.... I sled sideways into a tree. Tboned me between the driver's side and back door. pushed in my reaptor running board, dented both doors pretty damn good. Deployed the side curtain airbags on both doors. I did not break the glass.

I am sick just thinking about it. My wife and kids were in the truck. Nobody was hurt, thank God! I have insurance but I wander what the cost is going to be to get it fixed....any guesses from anyone knowledgable?

also, since the airbags deployed the insurance company deemed it undrivable so I have to have it towed.
