    We have a 2000 ft tower close by (500ft higher than that one). One time some genius decided to BASE jump off it. In the dark. He ended up getting his chute tangled on the guy wires and had to be rescued by the fire department. I don't know how those wires are set up but it seems he got damn lucky he didn't slide all the way down and die.

    I think the folks that use such things put a garbage bag lined 5gal bucket underneath when they're using it.

    Personally I'd rather just head off trail and dig a cathole. I've done that enough while backpacking that everything goes where it needs to go.
