^^^ This is what I usually hear
Rehoboth used to be huge! Quoted from Wikipedia. It almost became our state capital

"Early Rehoboth, known as "Old Rehoboth," included all of what is now Seekonk, Massachusetts, and East Providence, Rhode Island, as well as parts of the nearby communities of Attleboro, North Attleborough, Swansea and Somerset in Massachusetts, and Barrington, Bristol, Warren, Pawtucket, Cumberland, and Woonsocket in Rhode Island. The town was and still is a site of a crossroads which help to serve Taunton, Providence, Fall River and points to the north."
    Awesome!
That's cool about time someone competed with Dodge in that department
Lawrence, Lynn and Lowell are all pretty bad too

They're probably thinking they want you to upgrade to one of the more expensive engines!
Nissan sort of did but I think they also fell flat on their face in a lot of departments. The Titan diesel was neat but had a lower payload and towing capacity than it's gas counterpart and didn't do all that much better on fuel either.

I'm actually really surprised to see Ford doing it after investing so much into their ecoboost line. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if the 3.5 ecoboost went away to make way for the new Powerstroke so they aren't directly competing.

    Heh, could be.

I'd be surprised to see them delete the 3.5EB, though, with all the work they've done to position it as the top-of-the-line motor. Honestly, as much as Ford has pinned their brand on the EcoBoost motors, I'd quicker expect them to lose the 5.0 in the F150 than the 3.5EB.

They're really pushing that 2.7L now though, seems like the 3.5EB has fallen from grace for whatever reason. The 3.5 EB really shines in towing but I'd be surprised if it can hold a candle to a diesel competitor. From a logic stand point, I would agree that it makes more sense for them to drop the 5.0 but, for the American consumer, there's no way they're going to be the only manufacturer that doesn't offer a naturally aspirated V8. I don't think we're there yet. Time will tell I suppose, sounds like an interesting future for Ford.

3.5EB will be the performance motor. Raptor and Ford GT. My buddy has a new Raptor ordered. Can't wait to drive that thing. 450hp 3.5 Ecoboost

Frankly, I'm surprised they're not just dropping the 3.5 entirely (rather than replacing it w/the 3.3) and positioning the 2.7 as the new base motor. Pretty much everything on the dealer lots when I was looking was either the 2.7 or the 3.5. They had a couple of 5.0's and I think just one of the 3.5NA. And that was a 2wd regular cab, and it was still depressingly underpowered.

That's the brandy new engine and, from what I've heard, is better constructed than the 3.5EB. I think the 2.7EB has a more promising future than the 3.5EB (except as a performance engine as Tony said). I can't wait to see what the new Raptor is capable of. More power, less weight, should be an awesome performer right out of the box.

If we're brand swapping I'd rather have an intercooled 5.9 Cummins, lol.

I like the Cummins, but the motor alone weighs about 1000lbs. There it's some custom shop that put a 5.9 Cummins in a charger, and a duramax in a last gen camaro.

This is why I vote for an LS engine. I'd be happy with a lowly LS1 in the Taco. Oh, and the LS1 doesn't weight much more than the 1GR-FE around 375 vs 366lbs

I believe the 5.3 is an iron block, so I'm sure it weighs more than the 5.7, but it is also setup for a truck.
