Not offended, I could care less for anyone's affirmation. It's not a Ferrari dude, and we all didn't pay 40k. Like my previous analogy, busting the nut is the objective. My approach to that is getting some tail. So there, three options to that analogy.

lol I ll put for you this way. Tacomaworld says jerk off into your left hand now (spring and spacer lifts), I say don't Jerk off for a month and A Victoria secret model will do it for you (fox/icon/KING).

option 1 makes a mess AND makes you look dumb, option 2 makes you a hero. Its not even really a choice.

See you're understanding it now, to each his own. you just have to work on containing yourself from lecturing everyone on lifts if they choose the left hand.

So doing a 2" lift on the rear would be ok on stock shocks and have enough travel but is recommended to replace? I don't do but hwy and city driving so my suspension wouldn't be flexed or extended very much just speed bumps. I will eventually replace them, just want to see if the stocks would do until then.

Far from enough travel and will top out those shocks over most every bump in the road... But if you have to lift it now, understand that it is going to ride terrible until you replace the shocks.

Gotcha...I just might replace when I do the lift. Just to be safe.

Definitely what I'd do. And, if you can pull it off, an aal will be far better than a block.

Do you know how much lift an aal provides?

+1 on the original quote. This is old news...has been an underlying tone in almost every lift thread ever on tacomaworld but some will never understand for whatever reason. To each their own - ignorance can be bliss. I applaud your effort to put good information out there but for the most part it won't be acted on. It's nearly a lost cause for anyone who doesn't figure it out on their own. That's why more times than not you just see one liner digs on cheap lifts.

You're wrong, simple as that. There's absolutely nothing wrong with coil over too spacers and there's absolutely nothing wrong with lift blocks. Ever look under a 2500-3500 series diesel duelie that'll be driven way harder and tow more than we could ever dream of? Yeah, factory blocks and they'll be there for 300k miles. Are they the best option? Absolutely not. Are they going to make your truck explode or guaranteed to fail? Also absolutely not. I'll take my blocks and 5100 bilsteins over noisy squeaky Dakar packs that make my brand new truck sound like a shitbox any day of the week.

Seems to me that no matter what, this argument isn't going to be won by either side. Some people just don't see the value in the extremely well engineered more expensive options, just as others can't fathom buying a couple hundred dollar spacer kit and putting that on their new truck... At the end of the day, do what you're gonna do, but if the results are less than desirable, own it, rather than complaining that it wasn't what you wanted or were expecting.

I agree with that 100% I didn't expect $3000 results out of my spacers and blocks. Fact remains my truck rides better in the back with the 5100s and 2.5" blocks than it did stock. Front rides slightly firmer with the 3" spacers than it did stock. I'm perfectly fine with that, it's a truck not a cadi. Will I eventually upgrade the front to a 5100 and 888 coil? Absolutely but what I have for now is just fine with me. The rear blocks will stay. Rides good, nice and quiet, really can't ask for more. Why run an AAL that'll flatten out in 2 years?

Kind of a specific request. Anyone running these specs and can provide pics and if you did any chopping/trimming? With my research, this should not need a CMC, at the very most some trimming to the fender liners if that.

    3" lift front
    OME Dakar leaf pack rear
    16x8 ET0 (4.5" BS)
    285/75/16 KO2/KM2/AT2 or similar
    2.5-3.5 positive caster

And in 200k miles when my original set of $40 coil spacers are still in place and they've replaced or rebuilt their fancy icon or King shocks 3 times, we'll see how worth it it was. It really just comes down to use and budget. I'll likely never wheel my Tacoma and I don't see the value in spending $3500 on a lift. I'd rather send that $3500 to the bank and pay off my loan sooner. For what I use my truck for, my $350-$400 lift investment works just fine.
