I'm not good at links so here is the skinny

If you want Suffolk beaches then head to Sayville Golf Course or Smith Point Beach in Shirley to get your SUFFOLK COUNTY BEACH PERMIT.

If you want access to State 4x4 Beaches then head to the Belmont State Park office.... I believe the State Pass is strictly for fishing access though.

With the Suffolk County pass I day trip... Just hang out without the necessary mandatory fishing equipment. Much info if you search @FiaCobra[/QUOTE]

Who here is having problems with their 4wd??
4wd switch will not work when truck is running
if key on car off I can turn knob to 4 hi, turn the truck on, 4wd hi gets engaged but light stays blinking (can not access 4lo)
Thinking I am having these issues with the front actuator and or transfer case as well.

    anyone anyone!?

I am not sure you understand my post correctly
I am well aware of how my 4lo operates and engages and after 2 years and 40k miles of ownership, I am now having 4wd issues (both in 4hi and 4lo)

When turning from 2wd - 4hi, my 4wd light just blinks and blinks and blinks. Because of this, the truck will not go into 4lo. If 4lo is selected not both 4hi and 4lo indicators will continuously blink as well as now the addition of the 4lo beeping.
Sometimes it will not do anything at all while the car is running, at this point i can coax it into 4hi by having the key on and motor off... When the motor is turned off the 4hi is engaged but the indicator light stays flashing. 4lo can not be engaged at this time while 4hi indicator blinks only (even though car is running and shifter in Neutral)

fyi: automatics must be running, stopped and in neutral for 4lo engagement. manuals can be moving at a speed below 2mph for 4lo as per toyota owner manual.

Sounds like a relay or a computer problem? Mine didn't want to come out of 4 hi yesterday at first. I tried again at the next light and worked fine.

from my searching on the forums, it seems like it might be the front actuator (ADD actuator) if this is the part that is faulting me here it can be as easy as opening it up and soldering some connection points (if everything looks clean inside), or it can be a full part replacement (if everything is rusted out inside)

seems water can get in there and over quick time ruin everything, let alone the contact points seem to be flimsy at best from the factory.

was posting here in hopes of finding someone local who has already experienced this and resolved it..

@ecliff5 got my aluminum skids @fatfurious2.

You guys should do a skid install day. Both @HolyHandGrenade and my skids are RCI. Should be an easy install. About 3 beers worth of time. Make sure you use fresh bolts/nuts.

I slapped mine on already, though seems they will be coming off for a possible front actuator repair

I have full RCI skids, minus the gas tank. I havent decided what to order for that one yet. I will probably wait for another group buy somewhere.

Ill help with an install. I might be headed up your way around the end of the month. Someone asked me about TW express, since I go to Queens from DC

I like Lloyd's Pelfrey tank skid better than my RCI FWIW.

I haven't experienced it yet. I know I will one of these days though. That Rausch Creek poop water will kill it soon enough I'm sure. That's one of the major reasons I did the FJ swap. Now I only have the ADD actuator to worry about. The second I have trouble with the ADD I'm putting an FJ tube in and getting rid of it as well. I'm not suggesting you do this. It's not for everyone, I know.

    Anyway, good luck JC.

I like theirs too. They have those little arrowheads to protect the bolts. They like to have fire sales. @Pelfreybilt

I don't know. I have ARBs. Are you talking about the cable that replaces the electric motor? I like the idea for sure.

Are we talking about the same DAVID? The one that makes a twenty point left turn around a tree on one side and a boulder on the other side? :boink:
