Do it, I have a 7.5" SBR that rides with me a lot, easily maneuverable and deployable in vehicle.
It's super loud but other than that there's really not any downsides.

Just make sure you have a pistol lower for that upper so you have a pistol until your SBR paperwork comes back (assuming you don't already have an SBR'd lower).

I wouldn't have a NFA item as a truck gun, that'd be a shit ton of paper work and money if it was stolen.

Better to ask what I have not done.
Short barrel rifles (SBR) need a nfa stamp, $200 and about 7-9 months of your time and are registered

If you want a short barrel for a truck gun then just do a pistol build with a brace and don't shoulder it ;)

So what makes the difference between a pistol lower and a rifle lower?

That picture had a rifle with a barrel shorter then 16" = SBR.

The rifle has a stock on it and the pistol has an "arm brace" or pad on it.

Basically any rifle with a barrel shorter than 16 inches (can be 14.5 with a pinned flash hider) is considered a sbr. However you can have a pistol with a barrel shorter than 16 inches but can't have a stock to shoulder it. Theres a few other things that you can't have one that you can have on the other but that's it in a nutshell.

Yeah, that's the one... Best 308 battle rifle IMO, better than an AR-10 even.

So In CA we have that bs bullet button, is it truly that easy to install a magazine release? just buy the small kit? or is there other ways that aren't so illegal. (Currently building my first AR)
