Finally Getting Around To It Build

OME lift has finally arrived!

Will probably wait until Christmas week to install it when I have some time off.

 

Found out where my water leak was coming from.Turns out that I had a small hole in the firewall and it was coming through. Put some silicone on the hole and no more leak. On another note, I have an appointment Sunday to get my windows tinted!

 

Was almost 80 degrees today so I decided to get a little work done on the truck. Ever since I installed my LED reverse bulbs, I have had hyper flash when using my turn signals. Took care of that by installing some load resistors. Installed then and turn signals are back to normal. I also got my windows tinted today. Ended up going with 18% for the front windows to match the rears. I got a brow for the front windshield too. The tint turned out great! On another note, the plan is to install my lift this weekend and my wheels get here on Wednesday! Can't wait!

Here's a pic of the load resistors I picked up at auto-zone. They worked great if anyone else had hyper flash, you just splice them into both of the wires going to the turn signal bulb and your good to go!

Finally got around to installing my lift! The only real problems we had when installing it was with the drivers side front leaf spring bolt. We ended up having to drill it out. Had to shorten part of the centering pins to get the factory bump stops to fit too. After that everything ended up going pretty smooth. After the install, the truck sits at about 37 inches all the way around( not sure what it sat at before). Right now it's on 31 inch tires that I will be replacing with 285s. Now I just need to order my tires!

Overall, I'm very impressed with the OME setup. Rides very smooth and no vibrations at all. Along with the shocks and leafs, I installed the axle relocation plates (definitely recommend), BPV bracket, exhaust relocation bracket, extended rear brake line, shims on driver side for taco lean, carrier bearing drop kit, and diff drop kit.

 

Bringing in the new year the right way! Picked up a 01 yesterday that the previous owner totaled. It's got a 6 inch pro comp lift, all pro front bumper, 9.5K winch, 6 light bars, Mickey Thompson wheels and tires, recently rebuilt motor and auto trans, and best of all a TRD supercharger with 2.2 pulley and 7th injector! Plan on pulling motor, trans, transfer case and all other accessories on the front. After that I plan on putting the supercharger on my current truck along with the bumper, winch, and lights. On another note, I ordered my new tires last week and should be here this week. It's gonna be a busy week!

Oh man. You know what's up! I want these for my truck so badly. Who did you go through to get them?

 

Come down here and get them if you want. I'll probably only have the truck for a week or so to pull off what I want then it's off to the scrap yard.

 

I got them on Ebay. They are genuine TRD wheels too.

 

So, I did a little more research and found out that the supercharger does not have the 7th injector. It has a fuel/timing calibrator from Split Second along with a upgraded fuel pump. Not sure if i want to run the supercharger like this and it may or may not run right. I'll probably wait and save up some more money to buy the 7th injector kit and make sure its done right.

What all do you need for the 4WD swap?

 

Got around to pulling the motor, transmission, transfer case, wheels and tires, and front and rear drive shafts. Decided I'm going to rebuild the supercharger while I have it off. Once the supercharger is rebuilt and I get the 7th injector I'll put it on my truck. It will probably be a little while until it all comes together but it'll get done eventually. Parts truck is off to the junk yard tomorrow.

Andddddd all the goodies from the truck. The roof light bar is a little beat up but still works. It'll work great as a makeshift worklight!

 

My tires finally came in and got the new rims and tires mounted on the truck! Definitely some rubbing that I'll take care of this week. Rubs on the pinch weld and the plastic around it including the fender flare. In the next week or 2 I want to get my blue sea fuse block installed when it gets here and then put the bumper, winch, and lights out on. I'll get some better pics of the truck whenever it get light out again and I fix the rubbing.

So I'm doing a similar lift on my truck. 2.5" spacers in front and the OME 2 1/4" springs in the rear. I really want to put 285/75/16s on it. Any way you could thoroughly document what you had to trim for me?

 

No problem but I haven't done any trimming yet. I will get it done sometime this week. From what it looks like i'll have to pound out the pinch weld, trim some plastic around that, and possibly trim some of the fender.

 

Thank you sir. Hate to be a novice (I'm a Ford Diesel Tech, so Yotas aren't really my specialty lol), but what is this pinch weld everyones talking about? The actual pinch weld in the cab or is there one in the wheel well?

I see, so basically fold her over and beat her flat. Would it be a good idea to cut a slit in her so you can flatten a section without stressing the metal where it will go from straight to flat? Does that make sense?
